PSI on 22 wheels.

Hi guys,

I swap my 740m oem 20” to my 22” wheels staggered front 275/35/22 rear 315/30/22 Pirelli P zero Pz4 . I tried to fill the psi as factory recommended which is front 38 psi rear 45 psi. I found that driving is terrible. The car feel floating and not attached to the road at all it like bouncing all the time and my steering is weird too. I then put it back as i normally fill which is front 34 and rear 40. The driving is totally different car. What are you guys PSI and what you guys recommend?? Please let me know.

They installed my 22" setup this morning with the recommended tire pressure. Seems to be fine. Outside temperature was about 9 Celsius. I felt it was a good balance between comfort and spirited driving. I've got the Conti's and would think there is about 10,000 km on them.

That’s look great!

I think may be mine are performance tires and I already has 12000 miles on it. I just feel uncomfortable with factory recommend PSI with my 22” summer set but for 20” oem set it does just fine with factory set up. I will have to try again when i change new tires to 22” rims and let see if new tires will feel the same.

Thank you for your response!

Your welcome. I'm sure new rubber will make the difference.

I lowered mine from recommended to 37 front 42 rear using an old trusty analog gauge. It's slightly warmer now and the car reads higher but often displays fronts at 42 and reads 45/6 when driving for period of time.

Still experimenting but feels better. I used to run my M3 a couple under also.
