What's your -work- truck

.............grabbing a Stainless Table for the Outdoor Pizza Oven and was telling the person coming by Friday as I booked a uHaul. He called me back, asking what type of car, what not put it on a roof rack, etc (which I do own) but I ain't schleppin a SS table on the G05 on the roof.

I always say it wouldn't hurt to have a flatbed in the fleet

Which pondered the question. How utilitarian is your G05.
Sofar, for us, A large enclosed trailer to haul some garden nursery trees as the specialty place for such is a 5 hr drive away is as utilitarian as it gets

Don’t have a G05…but my e53 and f15 were both used to pick up a big stainless steel gas grill that was approx 5ft long.

And the f15 brought home a new gas dryer and took the old gas dryer the recycling center.

And seasonally I load up my winter & summer wheels/tires to do the swap.

What’s the dimensions of the table you’re purchasing? Is it too big to fit inside?

56"
Even if I tilt it, too risky touching headliner or side trim.
Haven't bothered measure what the height is even on tilt as it's a nO for me
Have tow hitch. It's a smidge more for a cargo van than an open trailer rental, but I can probably zip in/out faster with the van.

Whoa on dryer.....
We have a 5.0 CU and it would never fit...

An 8000lb diesel Excursion. It'll hold a 4x8 sheet of anything, or 10' of pipe/unistrut/etc, inside with the tailgate closed. It holds our three adult mountain bikes the same way, with both rows up. Anything larger, like my 4Runner, rides on a flatbed behind it.

If my wife's X5 has anything but groceries or flowers in it, we drove the wrong vehicle that day.

Our little work horse is a VW Alltrack which serves light duties such as snowblowers and lawnmowers which can fold down, Christmas trees, and most surprising a 65" TV lying flat in its original box from Costco.

I'll let real men do the real work with trucks.

LOL. If it fit in my f15 with no issues…I’m sure it “could” fit in your G05. But it’s obviously a choice one would have to make.

The dryer was a 7.4 CU dryer (regular floor style…not the new tall stackable type)…the box was about 30”w x 30”d x 42”tall.

I laid a blanket down to cover & protect the uncarpeted section of the tailgate, then tipped it over and slid it into the cargo area (rear seats folded down).

Went in with no issues…but I also had measured the various dimensions of the cargo area to establish if it would fit with no issues.

TRX for hauling and long road trips all the way. Way nicer ride then the M50i to spend time in.

Lovely Swain. Almost every time I have needed one, I find myself pricing out the same one with Extended Bed. But the days of DIY are way long gone and my use case is pretty limited.

It can be hard to casually swap between my X5 and the Raptor because they are completely different kinds of vehicles. Love them both.

If it doesn't fit in my X5, then a mover is hired (who has their own truck).

What’s funny is look up the depreciation on a tocoma in five years and then look at the bmw x5 depreciation in five years. Unbelievable.

Love my Tacoma. Original owner coming up on 7 years. Very useful truck. Small cab but good enough for what I use it for. It goes wherever I don’t want to take the X7 to.
