Bizarre Service Reminders?
My X5 50e is now 6 months old. 4 weeks after purchasing it, the check engine light came on and it spent 6 weeks at the dealer - getting the 'battery control module' replaced.
The car has 3900 miles on it. Yesterday, an alert showed up on the dashboard - "Oil service required". Obviously, this makes no sense for a car with only 3900 miles on it. Got a SA on the phone...he was clueless, and could only suggest that I bring the car in. Today, on the MyBMW phone app, 3 bizarre service reminders have now appeared: "Engine oil - overdue since 7997 miles" "Brake fluid - overdue since August 2026" (yes, it actually says 2026) "Vehicle check - overdue since 40,998 miles" I don't get it. Has the car had a stroke? BMW's PR department is sure doing a great job of keeping these rampant reliability issues out of the public eye. |

When you go to the vehicle service screen in iDrive (inside the car)...do you get the same service due info as you're seeing on your phone?
If not, could be a phone/app problem...not the vehicle. I don't know what the service screen looks like in the latest iDrive version...but past versions look like this:
