6-hours later I'm at the same status... I visualize my painted body sitting on a "shelf" gathering dust somewhere waiting to get picked up and moved onto the assembly line. I was expecting the "went from body to Q&A in 6 hours", but seems not to be the case.

It goes from body paint on a covered assembly line "bridge" in queue with the other painted X5/6 bodies to main assembly for production, which usually takes approximately 20 minutes to travel.

The online tracking isn't in real time.

Received my PCD letter from Broker - I have asked to do 8/28 (Friday) but don't have high hopes of getting it. 21 days wait from Awaiting Carrier to first possible delivery date.

Yesterday I received my updated PCD date of 8/27 (Thursday was better for us than Wednesday).

Plan of attack is to drive Weds evening over in the M850i, take delivery on Thursday, then take both V8s up on Tail of the Dragon before heading home.

You can add it to "My Garage" https://mygarage.bmwusa.com, you need either the build number or the VIN.

Yesterday, Broker texted that Finance manager would call, and about an hour later they called. Of course hit me with the "Buy our Wheel/Tire/Glass/PDR" insurance from Assurance for ~$3200... spiel was Wheels are $1k each, Tires are $500, Windshield $2k... I am passing. Should sign today.

So they won and I lost on this one (I guess)... What start at nearly 4k for Wheel/Tire/Glass/PDR insurance ended up being a hair over $1300 (it was literally my finance guys first week, and he has a quota on # of plans sold, not $ amount). It does include cosmetic on the wheels, so basically a windshield will pay for it. It is also partially refundable if we don't use it.

Ahhh congrats on the new ride and PCD! Looking great and thank you for sharing! Wish I had more time to spend exploring the roads - especially Tail of the Dragon.
