2024 x6m comfort access

Anyone here have a 2024 x6m with comfort access? Does it function on all four doors or only the two front doors?

Thanks in advance!

Only the two front. Pointless penny saving that takes away a useful feature for anyone that uses the rear seat…

No kidding? It’s on all four doors on my pre-LCI 23 X5M.

Edit:
Our 2023 X4M has it in all four doors too.

All four on my 2021 x6m. I store my backpack behind the driver seat all the time so this kinda sucks.

Thanks for the info.

I feel your pain. It’s only the front doors in the F-350 too.

I have two kids, so this is terrible news, but I'll get over it.

Yep. Taken away for LCI. I grumble about it every time I reach for the rear door.

My 2018 m3c didn’t have rear CA and when I got my 2021 m3c I was delightfully surprised it had rear CA. I’m gonna be bummed if my new m3 and x6m won’t have it. This is a bummer.

It’s annoying and irritating; this car has a weird balance of features! I’d happily trade the soft close doors for comfort access all around and better headlights, for example.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't you just turn on the proximity lock/unlock function and the car unlocks when you're near it,q no matter what handle you try to yank to open the door?

Yes. Also you can set it up that when you turn off the car, unlock all doors in case you need to take out the kids from the back seats.

meanwhile honda added it to the rear doors on the 53K Pilot.... stupid move by BMW.

I only had it on the front doors on my F80 M3 and i can tell you its a major pain the ass if you have kids because you always load them in first.

It is not the same. There are plenty of situation where you are within 6-8ft of the car and you have no intention of getting in, especially if you part in attached garage at home. The car does a lot of thing even when unlock.

Again, as I said in another thread. It is not that people cannot adopt to it. Just why skim in such a quality of life feature when much less expansive car has it, and even its predecessor has it.

Yeah what sucks about this is I put my bag back of the driver side so even opening the driver door would force me to still touch the remote or touch the unlock from inside the cabin. Fukin dumb. I guess I’ll have to unlock all the doors using proximity and see how that goes.

Yeap, same issue with me on the XM.
Annoying AF.
Was thinking to retrofit it, but another thanks to BMW for not allowing us to code iDrive8 and up anymore.
Need to do more research, maybe it doesn’t need coding. Just some wiring, hopefully.

And VW added 4 door keyless access to their 2024 Atlas for all trims (base trim starts at $37,725 (before destination and handling).

What was BMW thinking???

I never liked using the proximity feature because 1) like someone said there are plenty of situations where I would be near the car but don’t need to get in and 2) it’s another battery drain since there has to be something kept on in order for the car to continuously monitor if your key is near. There is enough draw from these cars as is even when parked.

Oh, that feature is super annoying.
All the cars that I have to work on and have it on. When the key is still within 10 feet from the car, everytime I walked in between the key and the car, it goes lock, unlock, lock, unlock, lock, unlock. Then the alarm went off while I am under the car piercing my ear.

Also, for living in a 3rd world California, it won’t be safe.
Anyone will walk in to your car first before you for a snatch and grab.
I believe it also increases the range of key’s sensitivity where with signal amplifier, someone can get to your car.

Well said on all point especially the 3rd world Cali part. Yes we are approaching 3rd world anarchy.

We always have paid fanboys, stockholm syndrome infested cult, that will rationalize anything bad decision bmw makes, no matter how bad of a job bmw did, it is not their problem, because there is always a workaround. If the workaround doesn’t work for you, it is your problem. And these people don’t even own too many bmw for too long.
