that's what I've read/heard, too. MarkCav maybe look into stealth (matte) paint protection film instead. that's what I did

From what I have been told i the past, when you get frozen paint, it is very hard to touch up when you get dings in it. almost anything you do will make it very noticeable. If you PPF it, well it becomes shiny, defeats the purpose. The best thing is what nZtiZia did, get it wrapped frozen. If you do run in a problem, you can just rewrap the affected area.

Frozen paint is impossible to correct once a panel is damaged because you can't blend the paint without making it glossy.
You basically need to spray the entire vehicle again. However, you can just buy a forzen PPF film and put it on top of the frozen paint to protect it, but even then a big rock chip or accident means an entire car spray. Buy glossy and put matte PPF clear film on top. |

I do love the look of this color.
Here is my old S6 (just found out the second owner just traded it). Went from Glacier white to matte grey. It was not as easy to maintain as I had hoped. but it has faired well as this pic is almost 4 years after i had it wrapped. My X5 is Arctic Grey...and i did a full PPF clear. Super easy to keep....

I just brought home a '21 X5 M50i in frozen black. Does anyone know where I can buy the BMW Nano Matt wax recommended for this paint? I called both local dealers but they do not have any at the moment.
Canadian supplier preferred but not essential. |
