It could also be that the s/w update did not touch that module. I've had mixed results over the years. On some s/w updates, that gets overwritten, on others, it does not. That would imply it's not saved in a profile.

it’s known that certain settings stored in one’s driver profile show up in different (synced) vehicles, such as ambient LED color and preset radio stations. my 530e is performing a coded feature that I coded only on my X5. that would imply it's saved in a profile Last edited by nZtiZia; 04-20-2023 at 08:39 PM.. |

Speaking of 5 clicks, I recoded this too but it no longer works. I don’t think it even give me 3 clicks. As soon as I let go the stalk, it goes off. I used to be able to hit it (like mb) or press and hold and let go. None works.

still, sounds like you're not properly activating one-touch turn signal. you don't press and hold down the stalk as you've described above. if you hold it, it will signal while you're holding it but stop as soon as you let go as you’ve described above and as shown in the following video at mark 0:15. to activate 3-click one-touch turn signal (5 clicks, if coded and enabled), you press the stalk up or down quickly then let go as shown at mark 0:31. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAMCkJvECy8 |

I’m very sure it did before. I really liked it. Press and hold then let go and still blinks 5 times. Quick press did the same. This morning it did give me 3 blinks on a quick press. On the other note I remember now that I have to go back into setting to turn on. Thanks.

it really does appear that the one-touch turn signal setting is stored in the driver profile.
as mentioned earlier, I coded 5-blink one-touch turn signal only on my X5, but it also blinks 5 times when I drive my 530e. 5-blinks doesn’t even show up in the settings on the 530e. in fact, 3-blinks is selected. when my wife drives the 530e with her profile, it only blinks 3 times. now I need to test how many blinks when she drives the X5. also, I’ll change the setting next time I’m in the 530e and see if it affects my X5. stay tuned… |

Would someone be able to suggest the quickest connector for using Bimmercode on the new LCi please??
I have family arriving from the US in a month or so and can get it from there. Full Disclosure: The LCi hasn't yet been launched in India, but I'm trying to be prepared :-) |

Keep in mind that very few things will be able to be coded in the LCI due to BMW requiring server authentication for most ECU’s.

TL;DR: BMW moved to a new Coding 2.0 model that locked most of the modules. Coding is no longer possible. |

Well.. .. the OBD adapter with the proper phone app does two things....1. Coding and 2. Reading/analyzing/resetting error codes. BimmerCode is for coding features, which for the LCI I'm hearing is very limited and BimmerLink is for reading, analyzing, resetting error codes. Both apps use the same OBD adapter so if you keep your car past warranty and are the type who likes do to their own diagnosis, BimmerLink may still prove some value to you.
There are a few OBD adapters as TurtleBoy mentioned on the BimmerCode website, I use the ethernet connection method and its fast. |

Still, someone will eventually create an app, or Bimmercode will be updated to get around any new locks. That's the nature of these things.

I hope so, but seems it’s gonna take quite a while. See that BMW locks engine DME sometime in 2020 - people were hopeful to have crack soon but even until now there is not many solutions. There seems to be one in EU requiring physically send the hardware over and none of such service commercially available as I know in US. My guess is even such crack is available in the future, it would be some service costing hundreds of dollars and some logistics instead of a $30 app unfortunately |
