ISTA Level for 07/2020.25?

Anyone know what the ISTA level would be for 07/2020.25? I am guessing 4.24.13 but wanted to double check. My local dealer cant seem to understand version 07/2020.25 and only "knows" ISTA levels to be able to confirm he has the latest before I take my car in for an update. Thanks!

Maybe when I have some time I will try installing another nav app and see if it shows up.

If I'm picking my car up this weekend, should I assume the iDrive will be completely up to date for me - or is it down to me to update?

They should update your car to i-step 07/2020.25 as part of PDC, assuming your dealership has had the update made available to them by BMW.

The latest you can potentially update to yourself using RSU is currently 11/2019, but your car will come with 03/2020 anyway so not relevant.

Eventually you can update it but it seems you will be one version behind which is 03/2020.xx.

iDrive should be up dates as part of predelivery inspections but doesn’t seem to happen, I doubt the dealer wants to take the time unless directed by BMW or if it is a condition of sale. The people doing PDC are usually low level technitions at best.

Given the recent update I would let the dealer know you have an android device and you want Android Auto working which seems to be the case in 07/2020.xx. If you have an Apple device tell them your wife/girlfriend/partner has the Android device. Ask them to update and then check when you pick up vehicle and don’t take it until its done if you are sure you want it updated.

It may take until November or longer to get the update OTA, still not sure how they decide to send out OTAs time wise.

My dealership update to the latest available to them as a matter of course during PDC. Guess it could be different elsewhere but I wouldn't be happy buying a new car that was already out-of-date.

OP - if you have a MY21 it will have to have i-step 07/2020.

07/2020 is scheduled to be delivered OTA from October 2020 as it stands. More aggressive than the usual n-1 approach, but will be dependant on issues identified during dealer updates.

I got a notice of the July update on the BMW Connected app yesterday (7/14) but it disappeared and the car isn't seeing an update when I click search for update in the iDrive menu. Any thoughts? Glad it is starting to roll out.

I have a 3-Series that's paired with an iPhone and Android phone. I noticed yesterday that the BMW Connected App on my Android device said a new software upgrade was available, but when I clicked on it and opened the app it was gone. Probably a fluff head, but just echoing that I saw the same thing yesterday too.

I did a test with Google Maps and the directions did not show in the HUD. The iDrive map disappeared from the IC and the control display as well as giving a message that CarPlay was doing the navigation.

Thanks for testing. A bit disappointing but not unexpected.

I'll stick with my TomTom+iDrive nav combo then, and hope for some significant dynamic routing improvements with the new cloud nav.

Not sure how much trust I would have in anything BMW NA or their Genius line say! My dealer said OTA for AA was going to be October. Thankfully he has the right ISTA level now and I have "carplay issues" for them to fix tomorrow! :-)

^ I would agree. Very highly unlikely that 07/2020.xx will be available OTA within the next month. I even think October is optimistic, probably Nov/Dec will be more likely.

Yeah....or unless I see that 03/2020.xx has already been rolled out OTA in the US at least.

My car will be out tomorrow done with the 07/2020.xx update. I am a fan of CarPlay and can't wait to see its Nav in the HUD. Also a big fan of Lane Keep Assistant. Some said here that its improved. I would give that a try first thing tomorrow when she is out.

07/2020 is officially scheduled for OTA in October, but knowing BMW that could be 2021

Excellent, then you should be set. For my test the CarPlay directions seem to work just like iDrive, it even shows the various lanes and which one to be in in the HUD.

I almost always have the cruise with steering/lane control enabled so haven't noticed any changes to lane keeping in the little I used it.

And you mentioned it only works with Apple Maps not Google Maps (both via CarPlay)?
