Can any of the 50e owners check how many 12v batteries their 50e has? 45e has two 12v batteries - one under the trunk cover right under the cargo cover storage area and the second one behind the right side cover in the trunk next to the fuse box. One 50e owner reported having only one 12v battery - the one on the right side near the fuse box was not there (see this thread - https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=30181053).

Probably should clarify you are referring to the 45e, the others do not have two batteries in the trunk.

Are you sure? I thought I saw an thread in this forum somewhere with the diagram showing pre-LCI G05s having two 12v batteries. Does yours have only one?

The 40i/50i/M50i uses a dual storage system with the 12v battery in the trunk and the second one in the engine compartment. The one in the engine compartment varied depending on options and model year. MH would have the 48v under the hood.

The 12v AGM under the hood was for the 50i/M50i that had ARS, they were not mild-hybrids. I have not seen what they are doing for the M60i's.

OK, so if we put ARS aside, non-PHEV pre-LCI G05s have just one 12v battery?

For the 40i/50i/M50i it only has one AGM battery, the other is a lithium-ion.

Pre MH, MH of course has a 48v lithium-ion.

I am confused. According to what you just sent, there is a second 10 Ah 12v battery. This is a lithium ion one but it's not the MH 48v one and it's present in G05s with no active roll stabilization. This means that all G05s have two 12v batteries, right?

Yes if they are not a MH, that is the dual storage system. That is different though than the two 12v batteries in the cargo compartment of the 45e that was being asked about.
