Really pleased with how they look alongside the mudflaps.
Is that Carbon Fiber on the vents? Link if so?

I think they are the same ones you can get on that well-known overseas online shop run by Ali.

They fitted really well but a couple of observations....

1. Before you try and fit them soak them in hot water. This makes the plastic more pliable so you can get the holes to line up, which they do.

2. They use existing mounting bolts/screws.

3. With the ones I got they included additional fixings which means you have to drill the inner wheel arch. But you are only drilling the plastic inner, not any metallic parts. I also used nuts and bolts with penny washers just to spread the load on the plastic.

4. Taking the wheels off makes the fitting a whole lot easier.

All in all I'm impressed by them. Remains to be seen if they last the distance.

Hope that helps.
Are the mud flaps hollow or solid? I had nice Toyota mud flaps on my RAV4 and they looked great but they were hollow and open on top. The snow and slush would fill up the mud flap and freeze. When I parked it in the garage the ice, snow and slush would melt and make a mess in the garage. Love hate relationship lol

They are hollow, but they have 20mm(ish) vent/drain openings in the bottom. 2 in each mudflap (Image below).

That wouldn't stop a build up of snow I guess but should allow water to drain.

X5M badge on an M50i seems OK to me, since you can technically tune the engine to get close to the M. On a 40i, especially if you leave the 40i badges in there seems like an identity crisis.

Well technically if you have m sports package it is still M hahaha look at the door sill and it clear says M so this is good mod to do haha
I agree. On my X7 (yes I realize this the X5 forum) I paid extra for the m sport package, which has "M"s on the steering wheel, side sills, wheels, and then I paid for "M" sport brakes too with "M"s there too. And we got the dynamic handling package. I would have no problem with another "M" somewhere. I wouldn't be trying to "fool" anyone....not that there is anyone to fool anyway. If you like the addition, enjoy it.

As far as I care, mod the whole SUV into an ///M shape and call it a competition superlight GT3 ...

That said, while one can certainly tune the M50i's N63 horsepower up, the X5M's S63 is significantly different including the entire oil & cooling system, engine & transmission mounts, etc. Whether that's useful

But then again, on 50% of BMWNA's USA website, the M50i and X5M are grouped together as both M cars versus the other 50% where they're not.

Gawddammit, is someone writing all this shit down?

I don't have a trim removal tool...trying to figure out the best way to get them off. I don't have to worry about scratches as I just had my car PPF'd...

Or maybe just run to an auto parts store...lol

What about that "X5M" sticker? Would like to know if it comes off easily and what it looks like underneath. I plan to do this to my M50i, but don't plan on leaving the "X5M" on.

On mine the X5M sticker just peeled off with a hair dryer and left no residue or sign it was ever there.

Can you share a picture post-removal? Would love to get an idea of what it looks like. Where did you get your vents from?

Can you post a side shot of your vehicle with these vents installed?
I'm considering getting these and would love a bigger view / perspective.
Thanks.

Didyou buy it from them already? Im just afraid they just took the badge off to post online for not getting sue. But actually have the logo when it arrive in mail.
No, why would you think that? And no it doesn't have the logo when it arrives in the mail.

Ben and RG Sport is a very reputable original and aftermarket parts sales group. They're well known, have contributed in and assisted forum members in mods for many years.

I lease and don't feel the need to cosmetically mod my vehicles but if I did wouldn't hesitate to contact Ben at RG Sport.

eBay would not be my first choice or recommendation.
I ordered the CF version from Autotechnic and it does not have the X5M badge and it is OEM quality.

I had these side vent stickers made by an etsy seller late last year, but I had set them aside for the winter months. With the sudden arrival of warm weather around these parts, I finally felt motivated to do the vent cover swap after getting my summer wheels mounted for the first time.

It's a "chrome vinyl with a layer of resin" dome sticker similar to what's on the M wheels. The colors are slightly muted, but overall I think it looks pretty good. I really like how it fills in that space and I don't have that sense of "something is missing" when I look at the covers. I was initially on the fence about how this might look once I got them mounted, but I think I'll run with them for now...

Do the non-oem ones come with the clips or only the 3m doublesided tape?
