Just Ordered!
Just put in my order for a 2022 X5 xDrive 40i carbon black on cognac with the brown poplar trim.
I got the following options: M-Sport Package Driving Assistance Package Luxury Seating Package Parking Assistance Package Premium Package 4 Zone Climate Anthracite Alcantara Headliner Rear manual side window shades Heated Front Seats, Armrests & Steering Wheel Hopefully a trailer hitch as well but the dealer couldn't guarantee it. They said 60-90 days for delivery. I'm coming from a 2016 Range Rover Sport HSE. I absolutely love that car and will be genuinely sad to see it go, but at 85k miles it is starting to have issues and we now live about 2 hours away from the service center. Really excited for the X5, it will be my first BMW, although my dad had a 2008 550i that I got to drive some in high school. My wife comes from a BMW family and is probably more excited for it to come in than I am, lol. Her parents currently drive matching white X5's. I almost went for the M50i, but driving an average of 18-20k per year I wanted the smoother ride of the 40i. I cross-shopped the GLE 450/53 (very strong runner-up), the Audi Q7/Q8 (was not impressed), the Cayenne (probably drove better but not worth the price difference), and the new Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit (My wife drives the new GC-L as the kid hauler and it is amazing, just didn't want two of the same cars). |

mbnc1 Congrats and keep us posted on your tracking. A great machine and you'll enjoy most certainly. I just ordered my X5 today, too.

Congrats! We have a Q7 and love it. Ordered our X5 11/23 - dealer said end of February delivery. Cross-shopped the GLE450 (had a good experience with a 2016 GL450) but can't believe how pricey those have gotten... for comparable trim (loaded) it was $10k more than the X5. Our build is white/black: x line, extended merino, luxury seating, executive, drivers assistance pro, climate comfort, parking assistance, 3rd row/air, anthracite headliner, running boards. No touch screen and no h/k upgrade possible. We've had every generation of the X5. High hopes for this one. I had the 2012 50i and it was a beast. But not possible to get the big engine with the 3rd row/air. Also this current M50i is overkill- and M badges only belong on an M car imho.

Congrats nice build. You will definitely enjoy it especially the luxury seating pack vs the seats in the RR sport. I was shocked at how much more comfortable the BMW seats are.

- X5 xDrive/xDrive45e - GLE 350/450 4matic - Genesis GV80 - Grand Cherokee Summit 4x4 and 4xe - XC90 Recharge We still haven't had any luck getting behind the new Grand Cherokee, but we have a lot of interest in it and it still could dethrone the X5 if i ends up being "All That" - but their prices are not competitive. The GLE 350/450 was really nice, but when comparing between the X5 and GLE... we ultimately went with the X5 because we could get a 45e for a similarly spec'd 350, and when you factor in the Tax Credits, it becomes even more glaring. If Mercedes starts selling the Plug-in GLE they build in the US, that would be serious looker. The GV80 is very nice as well, but when you look at their cost and what else is available in the same price point, it starts to fall behind. I have a feeling once Genesis has dedicated dealers and you aren't dealing with Hyundai folks, it will do their brand wonders. The XC90 was my personal favorite for a long time, and I still think its the best looking vehicle out there... My main issue there is that it hasn't had a significant upgrade since 2016 and no one at Volvo can set any sort of expectations of when it would be expected. Most felt it would be 2024-2026. We were looking to do the overseas delivery program with Volvo, but we weren't interested in waiting with an undefined roadmap. |

I ruled out Audi Q7 since I've had two Audis in the past. XC90 wasn't too impressive, maybe I should have tried T8 but with that weight and size, I don't think 2.0 4-cyl + super charger + turbo charger can move the car fast enough. Too high rev noise + mediocre driving. I can't find anything in stock for Genesis. I used to own the very original model (even before Hyundai branched out the brand) so I wanted to try but they asked couple thousands or more + MSRP without estimated delivery date. Mercedes was on a short list... but at the end, I chose X5. I thought maybe this is last time for us to buy a 6-cyl ICE as the market is shifting to downsizing, low (or zero) emission. Tax credit was nice plus (but it may change, I'd expect BBB bill will come back and negatively affect PHEV anyway). Also Penfed, but sounds like J incentive is also decreased... but still looking forward to seeing my first BMW anyway. Order received in late December (Jan allocation). |

The biggest turn-offs for her were the Backseats felt cheap (thin), the rear of the vehicle looked like a "Minivan" and the Piano Black Surfaces (aka. Fingerprint magnets). Not to mention, the 4xe isn't due to arrive until the winter and the dealership told us that the prices could change, there could be feature changes and that winter date might fall into early 2023 based on what happened with the current release of the non-4xe. |

loving the alpine white... we went with the comfy 19" wheels for the sake of my back plus air suspension/3rd row. Very smooth.
