Week 35 Build

Didn’t see a thread yet for last week in August…

Ordered July 19 (M60i, Marina Bay Blue, saddle brown). PCD. Dealer sent me build sheet with production number same day. Entered it in My BMW next day and it showed up in the online tracker with order received.

July 24: called Genius hotline, they confirmed currently scheduled for week 35 production, but no VIN yet.

Tartufo. I mean would it have killed them to call it what it is instead of naming it after gelato?

Luckily I saw it in person at a Ultimate Drive Event or I would have dismissed it based on pictures - and name.

Agree......tartufo????? After seeing it in person I liked it but I ordered Ivory White. My wife didn't care for the tartufo and insisted on a lighter color.
Anyway, congrats on the order.

Thanks! I had white on my Z4, great color. Just wanted something different.

Not yet, but figured I’ll give genius a call again today or tomorrow. About two weeks since I placed the order.

If you are week 35, then approx. 2 weeks prior you should move to status 150 and get a VIN assigned. For you that would be week 33, so basically in 1.5 to 2 weeks.

Even once a VIN is assigned it won't be available in general decoders and systems until production.

My production is scheduled for tomorrow and the VIN is not yet available in decoders. Should become available after production does finish. I will know for sure in a few days

Lurking for awhile but first post to the forum. My CA confirmed week 35 build. Was in status 112 when purchased on Sat 8/5 since they had an allocation. Hoping to flip to 150 in the next few days!
24 X6 M60i, Aventurin Red Metallic, Tacora Red Sensafin with fine line black wood grain interior. Executive, Climate Ctrl, Driving asst, Parking asst packages, massaging seats.

Hubs purchased a 24 M440ixDrive Gran Coupe same day, still waiting on allocation and production no. Was told it may be end of month worst case scenario. Same exterior color so it will be interesting to see if the colors are identical since his will be built in Munich.

Have seen a few pics of Marina Bay Blue. Looks really nice and I could have gone for that. Did Carbon Black instead for my 50e. I need to call and see if I can get my production week. Still in status 111.

I'm switching my interior from coffee to cognac sensafin. Never owned a bright interior in any of my cars, better late than never!

Well, crap. They came back with a date and it’s the one day I can’t due to a business trip. No other options and I have 2 business days to let them know.

What date are you talking about, a delivery date? PCD delivery date?

Yeah, sorry, PCD date. Bit upset. Dealer got the email with date and the following info - don’t know if it’s even worthwhile to ask the dealer to request another date:

Because of the high volume of reservation requests that we are currently receiving, this may be the only available date for delivery of this vehicle. We are only able to hold this tentative delivery date for a limited time.

Dealer asked them for a different date and they gave me one that will actually work! Very happy.

So, even though they make it sound it’s the one and only day they have available, it’s ok to ask for another one 😉
