Performance Center Delivery - Amazing!
My first post in the forum - guide me to the best sub-forum for my eventual full-up post on this topic, please!
We took PFD for my 2021 X5. The experience was so fantastic, that I'd recommend anyone within two day's drive should go that route. In our case, we only had an hour's drive (in a rental car) from Asheville, NC. But, knowing what I now know, I would have driven to Spartanburg from Chicago, to get that experience. And, one of the few benefits of getting PFD during Covid - fewer participants, so more one on one attention. I'll post more info, pics, and video, but I'm not sure if they should go into this general sub-folder, or someplace else. Last edited by Benchbear; 09-12-2020 at 11:20 AM.. Congrats! Yeah I can imagine the experience would be even more personable with less folks participating. Glad you enjoyed it!

Glad to know PCD is opened again. My dealer told me PCD was not available as of last week.

I agree!!!
Everyone should experience PCD at least once. It's a great way to experience the BMW brand and receive personalized delivery. The time with the BMW Genius in walking through important features and customizing your iDrive settings was invaluable. 4 PCD's later and it still doesn't get old!

the last part of the day is a trip to the assembly plant. if you skip that part, the tour of the plant, you can shave an hour off. |

how many people are they allowing to do a PCD now? we had a group of 5 or 6 i think. for the 'hot lap' do they let more than one person in the car at one time? ie what all is changed if you dont mind my asking

Congratulations!
We did the PCD June 29, 2020 and it was great. Wasn't quite sure if we would be able to do it, but they did re-open in time. They were limiting the number, so there were 4 couples including us. They had not opened up the factory for tours, but we were given exclusive entry into the museum. If I recall correctly, we wrapped up by 3pm. https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...9&postcount=14 |

1. they have to chip into the cost of the PCD 2. they have no incentive letting you build a car vs buying off their lot. they care a lot more about moving their lot cars than the PCD. 3. if you do a PCD, you don't 'need' a dealer for any significant reason. |

A couple of things to consider on the PCD:
- Consider spending the night in downtown Greenville - the river and park are great as are the restaurants - Consider driving up to the Blue Ridge Parkway for an extended trip. We stayed at the Pisgah Mountain Inn (the views!) the first night, and in Asheville stayed at the Foundry. Great restaurants are a short walk. Next day we drove to Boone on the Parkway and then home. Great trip! and of course the PCD was amazing. |
