It looked like some of the water deflected off of the pan and onto the floor?

I stood outside of my car for a while after a long drive and, assuming the pan is hot enough to evaporate water upon contact, one would think I would hear some hissing or even the dripping itself. I heard neither.

I would still like to see a puddle of water below a V8. Just one person confirming that would kind dispel any theories and conjectures we may have.

Conversely, it would be nice if more people are reporting no water. That would, at a minimum, lend some credence to normality (or, all of our cars are broken).

I had a long road trip yesterday with the AC running 100% of the time. After I got home I went out and checked the garage. There was a pool of water under the passenger side front door - about 8 inches from the edge of the car. I'm guessing this is the condensate line. MY2020 M50i. There was also a light sprinkle of rain during my drive, but the under car was pretty dry with the exception of this one spot, so I'm assuming it's the drain.

Excellent. Thank you VT for confirming that water is visible.

For those not seeing any water, well, maybe our cars are indeed broken.

I'm not sure that's the case. I rarely see a pool under the car and I have the AC on all of the time. I think in my case, it could be the the quantity of condensate was sufficient enough where maybe the transmission wasn't evaporating it quickly enough. I'll be on the look out more, but I don't recall seeing any condensate under the car prior - I was also curious about this before this thread was created. I drove a Mercedes before this and you could see the condensate dripping as you were backing out of a parking spot. When I first bought it, I thought I had a busted coolant hose.

It's funny. I had a 2018 X3 M40i and that thing would leave a puddle after 15 minutes of use. Then I had a 2019 X3 M40i and it would take a much longer time to actually drip anything. Certainly not a puddle like the 2018 left.

Guess when we get some humid weather (very, very rare) around here, that will be the true test. Though that will probably have to wait till some monsoonal flow brings any moisture this way. Usually late fall.

Oh well, in the meantime I'll keep checking for some drainage and I'll see what develops here.

Same, I'll keep an eye out as well and report back.

My previous car would start dripping after a few minutes of AC use, regardless of the outside temperature.

I bought a 2019 X5 50i in April and have never seen any A/C condensate underneath it. Floor is dry. Did anyone ever find out the reason for this mystery?

MY22 45e here. I have not seen AC water since day one. I park inside garage when epoxy coat, if there is water, it will be obvious. No water so far. No water in cabin either.

2019 50i. No AC issues and have never seen any water under the vehicle. Houston, TX, so I lean towards the transmission evaporation explanation.

FWIW, I have seen water released from under my 45e...I did not look to see where exactly it was coming from.

New '24 M60i owner here.

I've had the car for about a week and have yet to see a drop of water on the ground. And it's been pretty hot and humid here. But in the cabin the floor wells are dry and no odors. So I guess the water is evaporating from transmission heat like others suggest?

It's not that I'm looking for a problem . . . . I'm just curious!

I have had mine for 4.5 years and don't remember ever seeing any water under it.

MY19 40i here, running into this issue I think. Leak in driver footwell, coming from the crack on the side of the cupholders.

Been dealing with that smelly sock odor for the last few months. Planning on running a can of Kool-it, but can’t find this elusive drain line. Curious if anyone has found it yet?

Has anyone been able to resolve this issue on their own? Have a 19 G05 with this issue. Dealer inspected said the rubber boot connecting heater core with chassis floor pan was deformed and had to be replaced. This is clearly a manufacturing defect. Dealer stated insulating foam was stuck between heater core and boot under center console. Photo of leaking boot in link below:

Unfortunately this repair requires removing dash. Don’t want to go that route.

Wondering if anyone considered self vulcanizing silicone adhesive tape or some other sealant.

Hi. Did you have any luck? I have an E71 and have EXACTLY the same symptoms and have, completely independant of this thread, reached the same conclusion that the issue is the drain 'port' or whatever it is. Similarly, I think it's a dashboard out job to change it in the older X6, which I'm trying to avoid.
