After OTA "upgrade" persistent "Acoustic Pedestrian Protection" warning message

I let the system upgrade to the new software version and now have a persistent "Acoustic Pedestrian Protection warning failure" message.

I did install a Bimmer-Tech Match PP86DSP amplifier in late '21.
The only thing that I can think of that might contribute to the error message.
I don't even recall hearing the pedestrian warning before the amp install, so maybe there is an issue and the new software update is just now flagging this problem.

Ideas?

OK: After some more research and searching of the forums, this appears to be a known issue and Bimmer-tech has a fix for it.

We have had another member report this issue and they installed an aftermarket amp also.

If it's interfering with the CAN bus messaging and throwing errors, I'm pretty sure the answer is going to be "Disconnect the aftermarket accessory causing the issue". You're probably better off contacting Bimmertech and seeing if they can update the firmware on the amp for compatibility.

Found a thread from last year about people having this issue with the bimmer-tech amp and that bimmer-tech has a new cable which they can send out.

Thanks! I have emailed their support requesting a cable. Hate to have uninstall / install as it was a minor hassle.

The threads seemed to be (as far as I can tell) only an issue with the 45e. Anyone having issues with a 40 or 50?

It's only Hybrids & electrics that would be affected. Combustion engines don't have acoustic pedestrian warning.

Bimmertech sending revised connector

I have a 4.5. and get the message. Bimmertech is sending a new connector (26 wires). The original has 22, apparently fine except for the 4.5e.

Received my updated harness and installed yesterday. Took about half an hour total because I wanted to check on the input sensitivity setting.
See if it could go louder... Turns out I had it already set to max.
