0.9% APR Rate Ending in June'21?
Hi there,
I am about to start reaching out to some dealerships for a quote on the BMW X5 45e. My understanding till now regarding the APR was 0.9% (depending on good/great credit score of course). But today when I checked the "Build your X5" page at the BMW website, I saw it advertising a rate of 1.9%. And for some reason, I remember reading somewhere that 0.9% is the APR till 30 June 2021. Is it correct that the 0.9% APR is valid till 30th June only? Also, if it is, what are the chances that once July starts they will again extend the same 0.9% APR going ahead (since I think they have extended this multiple times no?) Thanks in advance for any info!! |

If I had to guess, it will still be on 0.9% on July 1st, but I'm only basing that on the fact that it's been 0.9% for awhile now. Someone more knowledgable may have a better answer. |

The rates, and most incentives, are only valid for a month and then each month they are either renewed or changed. Also keep in mind that rates and incentives are regional so they can differ depending on where a dealer is.

Dealers have the ability to mark up the money factor and the APR so that is probably what they mean by "does not participate".

Trying to pick up my 45e today and dealer said they would not honor the .9%. That national BMW FS sets standards but they always go 1% higher. I ended up going with 1.9% because I just wanted my car and after a hour of arguing I got no where. Then do find out PDI on the car wouldn't be done until tomorrow so I have to go back to pick it up.
Definitely a good way to piss a customer off. |

Totally understand that dealers can essentially offer whatever they want to, but I would be incredibly pissed off they told me one thing and then changed it later. On $80K financed, the difference between 0.9% and 1.9% is a little over $400 / year, so in the grand scheme of things it's not terrible. Still, if I were in your shoes, I would tell people to go elsewhere. Regardless, hope you're enjoying the vehicle! |
