My bud Jason also installed his today. He's the original owner of my Akra exhaust, but passed his over to me.

There was a seller in NJ who received an Akrapovic axleback kit, new in box, but decided not to install it.

Note that his Akrapovic carbon diffuser is the dry carbon version, which matches the tips perfectly. The finish also adds a very nice contrast to the gloss black diffuser surround piece.

thanks so much for posting these pics, i've ordered the Akra slip-on exhaust & the carbon diffuser myself, awaiting the kit which apparently is delayed as Akra are having some issues.

could i just check ... when you say "dry" diffuser, do you mean this one:

... i.e. matt finish? and if so, is it the matt finish that 'in the flesh' is the perfect match to the Akra tips?

if so, i've ordered the wrong one!! (gloss)

Does he have secondary downpipes or the Akra mid pipes in this video? How does it compare to your X6M with secondary dp's?

He has the matte finish one, good question though! It matches the tips perfectly.

Don't feel bad: I have the gloss diffuser and it still looks really good.

Jason has the same exact setup as I do. His cold-start sounds meaner than mine, but either that's in my head (due to BSM or F95 envy) or his car sounds deeper due to the effects of a more broken-in motor than mine

thanks ... i'll see if the order can be amended as i've a feeling i'd prefer the diffuser & tips to be the same matte carbon. the definition of 1st world problems, obviously!!

How loud is the cold start? I have catless secondaries and my friend did resonator delete with catless secondaries and it's TOO loud on cold start.

That’s my issue. I want the car louder when it’s on the move but cold starts is already boarder line too loud with just the rear section

Looks great!

I think I prefer the gloss diffuser - it gives some nice contrast between the tail pipes. Otherwise I think you'll end up with a 'wall' of carbon fiber from the tail pipes up to the diffuser. (The akra on my other ride uses an old school titanium tip setup, which I think looks classy!)

Anyone who recently ordered, what are ETAs looking like? I've been told early September!

Agreed. The cold starts are fairly loud and driving is lacking in sound.

It used to be around $400 off MSRP, but that may have changed due to lack of supply. RG Sport, do you have info to share with him?

The word on the street is that demand is high for the axleback kit. These things are backordered to the hills. Best to get your order in as soon as possible.

Recently, he put on midpipes. I'm not certain if these are Akra or another make. Notice the spool-down at the end!

So is it the mid pipes that add the insane crackles on decel?

I always thought you needed to add open cell downpipes to "unlock" those crackles and pops.

It could be. My friend has straight pipes that replaced the resonator and it crackles and pops. Not like M cars used to back in the day, but close enough.

i ordered mid-May 21, given mid-June as deliver date, which has now become end of July. hoping it doesn't slip further!
