Everyone knows the X5M/X6M are beasts. Maybe they are just that much faster even from a roll, but I'm not sure the instrumented data we have seen from the few magazine reviews supports that. Like I said, I'm not surprised that the X5MC won, but I am surprised at how it walked away. |

Owning an F95, I can say this is entirely possible. We RE-GYEW-LAR-LEE smoke rwd cars that should destroy us based on weight. It's not even close with some cars and I purposefully toy with them then pull away...just for shits-n-giggles.
Now I did see a Urus the other day and was admittedly intimidated and *probably* wouldn't have tested him/her in a straight line from a red light. However, the operative word is "probably" --- talk to me after a few Hibiki's and I might change my mind --- the next day after I'm sober and have all my faculties. I have OFFICIALLY given up all high speed tomfoolery though. Baby Malibu can't survive without her Daddy. But for the rest of you idiots brave enough to try stupid sh*t like this: CARRY ON!

Is this the same X5M that was shown in a video some time ago going around a track in Europe somewhere? |

Its been happening since the first X5M. They have always slapped M3/M4's in drag races. More power and rear biased AWD.

I am. I've had seven M3/4s over the last 21 years as well as 5 and 8 year old girls. I hate to miss out on a G80 with AWD, but the X5M with more utility and a beast of a V8 seems to be calling my name.

If you have ever had the pleasure of experiencing the latest 4.4 L V8 in any BMW variant…you will not question the outcome of this video. I love my G82, but the best engine BMW makes today is their V8, and it is not even close!!

The next gen will be hybridized like the current Porsche and benz V8's. However, it will probably have 800+ HP lol. |

Also… if the guy in the M4 cannot drive then yes he could lose on a roll also. Everything counts the rpm, mile an hour, gear etc… For example if the X5M was actually in 1st gear and break boost on this roll but the M4 was in 2nd he will get such a significant jump that by the time the other car catches up (cause he will! Power to weight) it'll be too late. I don't speak on magazine data I only speak on what I have done or witnessed with my own 2.

I think a X5 M50i would ruin the day of a M4C owner on the streets. The old way of thinking…”Its only a SUV” days are gone. In a strait line and even in some twisties a performance SUV will hand a older traditional sport car like a 911 it’s azz. I own many of both enough to know my mind was converted from the idea of dismissing the brute speed and performance of a SUV a few years back when a older X5M absolutely walked away from my 997 CS on the highway. My wife just mashing on the pedal of my last G05 X5 50i M-Sport could pull 4 second draggy 0-60mph launches all day long. The current BMW V8TT is a force and torque monster in whatever platform it sits in.

I couldn't agree more! Yesterday I launched the M50i for the first time and I'm still dizzy from the shock! I have a modified 3000GT Spyder and I've never felt such acceleration before this TTV8 monster.
