Seeing many non-comp models
Considering a 22 f85 and am seeing quite a few modes without the comp package. In prior years of 20 and 21 I hardly say any (at least it seemed that way here in CT).
Perhaps part of the supply chain issues? Perhaps based on some BMW sales research into buyer feedback? IDK. Any comments? I know there are many threads on comp v non-comp, just wondering if anyone else has noted the same insofar as available inventory. |

Strange. In August and September when we were looking it seemed there were only comp in our area, my theory was given exceptionally tight inventory the dealers were all ordering fully loaded comps to maximize their $ for each sale.

* Don't care about the internal cosmetics * Don't want the external cosmetics, as prefer the brightwork w/ my color * Don't want the exhaust (I'll get my own if I want one) * 17hp isn't a draw for me ... and the #1 reason: * Deletes PenFed rebate, so the true cost to me would be ~$12K+ |

We have a non-comp. I haven't seen another non-comp since we purchased in August. I like that thought. It doesn't have to do with supply chain issues. If you see them it's because they were ordered that way.
1) I like the chrome grille tips and badge, color matched mirrors and diffuser. I reminds me of the era of BMW M that I truly love. E46 E39 where M models had very subtle stlying. To each their own. 2) Interior: I was getting black anyway. Extended Merino is standard which we had on our X7. Full wasn't worth it to me even with the seatbelts. I'd debate it even at $1k. 3) My wife will be driving this and more importantly we bought the X5M for the handling, ride quality and steering. So the 17hp wasn't even a thought for us. We'd never notice it. 4) Skipping non-comp allowed us to get all the options and keep it under 120k. B&W, Wheels, Exec, DA+ 5) Biggest: PenFed $3,250 for non-comps Where are you located? I am split between South Florida and the DMV. Haven't seen another non-comp yet (except a few on dealer lots) |

I'm in the NYC area and all I see is X5M X6M comps... even more so than any generation of these vehicles that came before the current model.
It's actually a bit shocking since it's also the mose expensive version to date, when I'm on my 4th X6 (Second X6M) and driving the F86 felt exclusive, when now the F96 seems common now. I've seen less 50i / 40i versions now, when compared to spotting X6MCs quite frequently.

As stand-alone non-comp options it'd cost you: * Full Merino non-comp: $3500 (incl individual ivory/blue) * 21/22" 809M wheels: $650 --------------- = $4150 So, assuming you'd get the above options one way to look at the comp package is: * Shadowline headlights * Shadowline exterior trim * M Sport exhaust * 17HP * Track mode (non-comp has 'road' & 'sport', but no 'track') * M seat belts * Badges ---------------- = $5,150 assuming you're not getting the PenFed discount, i.e., NOT financing through BMWFS. If you are eligible for PenFed (60 days+ membership, no BMWFS financing), then getting non-comp gets you a $3,250 rebate meaning you could get the full merino & staggered wheels for $900. |

My people! usually me too, but in this case I wanted the ivory/blue interior and the wheels were only a $650 option so I figured what the hell ... plus it's oddly easier to find winter tires for staggered rims than the 21s.

My dad would drive a non-comp. Old men like chrome. The car gets them from A to B. They have nothing do with with C. And they would like get home and see their twin girls Monique and Unique again. But that's just my opinion I could be wrong. I'm probably wrong...
