My question as well. Even tho they are made in usa - I think they go live in Europe first and then sometime next year become avail in USA. At least that is what I have read several times.
My next vehicle will be either
X5 45e
Rivian Truck
Ram1500 Limited (yes - I know - one of these is not like the others)

M50i - patience, please. This is a global PR, and US-built M50i models simply won't arrive in Europe in the time frame covered in it.

Maybe it will be in this package. Individual high-gloss Shadow Line trim with extended features will all be added to the BMW X5 options list from August 2019.

Also agree, 40 sec is nothing considering how cheap storage is these days.
Agree I would definitely disconnect it on arrival we have same issues at work with our drive cams had a few accidents with employees that the lawyers subpoena the recordings , one employee was fired and sued personally for looking at his phone and hitting a pedestrian,

Thank you for calming me down...

They will probably do a “the first ever X5 M50i” press release.

I'm Sorry. But what do you mean with on top?

I know F15 has batteries instead of 3rd row. I'm hoping G05 have a better design like the XC90

I'm holding off until 2020's released. Im sorry. Would love to pull trigger now but I'm reading and hearing too many bug fixes going on now with the first run of the re design. Let BMW get the kinks out (hopefully) and once 2020's run probably by Sept i'll look then. No overly thrilled with color options they have now anyway. Little disappointed in what colors they picked now. Looking for something that is timeless..

I totally get while some may wait. After thinking about it, BMW is still going to be using the exact same hardware so other than software updates which all the 2019’s will get, there isn’t any guarantee there will be any less issues. It’s a very complicated vehicle and this is the new normal. The new Cayenne is also having all kinds of issues. Their forum is lighting up with all kinds of reports and so is the Audi forum with the Q8. My guess the new GLE will have all kinds of nightmares with their overly complicated suspension system. The M50i could be a 2 year wait since they didn’t introduce it as a future release?? BMW did a lot of improvements this last year just on the 50i V8TT so they may want to get their money back for more than one year. There is a very good chance when they do bring the 525hp V8 to the line, it may be first on the X6 M50i first.

Lol, I don't know why.
All my comment from yesterday afternoon are all a bit sarcastic.

What I meant, so far, BMW has been putting battery where there are used to be a useful space.

F10 AH5, behind the back seat, cutting the trunk space into 30% smaller.
F15 X5, below the trunk or where 3rd row supposed to be. Increased the height of the trunk base, cutting the trunk space into 10% smaller.
G30 530e, below the trunk space, cutting the trunk space into 25% smaller.

I don't think BMW is designed G05 X5 with battery compartment in mind. Unlike i3 or i8, they design the car around the battery enclosure.

One point you made is not exactly accurate. It is likely that not all 2020 model hardware is going to be exactly the same. It is probable that updated or revised electronics will be installed. Same as most consumer electronics - example a wifi router. The name/model may be the same, but if you look at the label it was say " version XX" ect.
Some things cannot be completely resolved with a software update, or newer components added to circuit boards & such. And I have my fingers crossed on the new M50i version!

Right you are mrjoed2, in fact I just had a discussion with a dealer in reference to building an X5 and was trying to figure out if certain options/features could be ordered cause they were not on the online configurator.
He said.. .. "It can be a bit confusing because they adjust stuff as they make their way thru the product year." I trust this dealer and have purchased from them before.

Fear not...the new 523hp V8 is coming. The first BMW X vehicle to get it will be the new G06 BMW X6 M50i which will be unveiled in a couple of months. After the G06 X6 launch, this engine will then be introduced on both the X5 & X7.
