To me, at some point continuing to release a vehicle with now a decent track record for having some issues becomes negligent.

My 40i has been the best vehicle I have ever had. I had zero concerns about getting another one, actually looking forward to it. Seeing all the posts about the CEL issues is certainly alarming. It obviously has something to do with the electric portion of the vehicle as the 40i got the same facelift without the complaints. So they have had a good amount of time to work on this.

I am hoping for the best and not really expecting with worst. For once, I am being an optimist.
Thank you for your support. I guess we just have to wait it out and see, and yes, BMW should have this resolved by now.

FWIW. All available data leads me to conclude that the 50e problems have not been resolved at least not to my satisfaction. I went with the M60i last August when my original intention was to order a 50e. I've been a forum member of BMW, Porsche, MB, Audi for years and I cannot recall anything remotely equivalent to the current 50e problems.

Appreciate the input. What data are you referring to that has you thinking nothing has been resolved? You don't believe any headway has been made on these issues?

Haven't seen anything to convince me that drivetrain issue is fixed. 50e is a wonderful vehicle when it works as intended. I simply do not have the patience to have my car in the shop at the incident frequency of the 50e.

This is the reason why I am so hung up about deciding which model to get. I have PTSD from my previous Lincoln PHEV.

It's also interesting to read about the '24 Cayenne hybrid on rennlist. Production delays since it's introduction. Seems that the technology is there but the execution is lacking.

There is no indication either from what we are seeing with our members or from the information from dealer personnel that any significant change has been occurring with the frequency of the issues. Given the limited production we likely won't be able to see any change in the trend, if there is a change, until late summer or so.

When MY25 production begins will be a better indication if anything has / is changing. So I concur that unless the CEL lights up leaving the dealer lot, June / July is when feedback should start to roll in.

I really hope not.... I have been so happy with my 40i. I really want the 50e to be a success story.

Well, my PTSD kicked in. I called my sales man and I told him about the CEL issue the 50e have and I want to change my order. He did mention that I am making the right decision, he said that he sees a lot more of PHEV in the service bay. He said to go for the 40i, m60i or comp, and I told him I rather go with the M60i to kind of match the power from the 50e. I went ahead and placed the new order for a m60i. Thank you guys!

I got everything minus the space saver, Alcantara, and leather dash. For the suspension I went for the adaptive M.

I would suggest getting the space saver spare. It is a cheap option and you won't regret having it should it be needed.

That had to be a substantial cost increase over even a loaded 50e.

Talked to a Genius today and mine's still on track for a Week 18 production (week of April 29th). Figure that it's a good sign that the date hasn't moved over the last month.

I canceled my order for the 50e and ordered the m60i. I am afraid of getting another car that has too many issues. Hopefully BMW acknowledge it and fix it.

Now the M60i has too many problems? Are you not getting any vehicle now?
