I'm out of Quality Check after a one week and now awaiting carrier!
The dealer reached out asking if I'm available Monday for delivery. That would seem quick -- potential delays with the transport truck, PDI, 50e has to be fully charged before delivery, etc. I understand the dealer's motivation to try do a delivery Monday if it can. Waiting on clarity about whether release from the factory means the stop-sale has been resolved for my X5 or if they won't know that until it arrives at the dealership. Still, I happy with the incremental progress and grateful to have only been in QC for one week as I know others here have been stalled for far longer.

Final Assembly is often not seen as it is very quick, basically getting it ready for shipping.

I'm now stuck "At the Port." My dealership has texted me several times telling me that it might be there that day. That isn't helping with my impatience. My dealership is literally less than 10 miles from the fu***** plant. BMW has done everything they can to make this a crap experience for me so far.

That sounds reasonable, it is three to four weeks to the Western US.

Thought it would be a lot shorter since it is being manufactured in North America. I didn’t think shipping would take that long considering they brought our Porsche from over seas in 5 weeks haha. |

Yes, once it leaves the factory it has been taking that long or longer in some instances.

I know how you feel. Ordered in April and switched to 50e early June. Finished production yesterday. I was fine so far. But now to wait another potential 4 to 6 weeks for Performance Center Delivery puts stress on the patience level ... |

Are there options you select that automatically put your X5 in an extended QC status, like trailer hitch? Why I ask is it appears I am stuck at 155 QC Check. There are other manufacturers that do not install options on assembly line, like Corvettes ordering stripes will do extended time, they are not applied on the assembly line.

Ugh, was hoping for some other reasonable explanation other than it failed QC checks. One thing is for sure, I will not wait 5 extra weeks like TN2SC2020 did. I had a bad lemon law experience with another (American) car and will not be burned again with another. Plus, I'm not enamored with the quality on my wife's '22 X3. Dealer can keep it at that point I don't care about my $1k deposit.
