Yes, dealer is treating it as a $1k discount so they are contributing. There was never any pushback on this discount.

I'm about to order an x45e. Based in Seattle area and both BMW of Seattle and Bellevue told me they are selling special orders at MSRP, with no incentives. Did get the BMWFS MF and residual, but only after asking directly. Their initial offers marked the MF up to 0.00139 (nearly 70%) and added a couple additional points on the residual. Particularly disappointing at BMW Seattle given this will be the 4th BMW I've purchased from them. They dug in and told me they couldn't do a MF below 0.00139.

I get these are new and in high demand, but I've never seen anything like this. Anyone have a dealer they can point me to who can do better than this. Have a build code and ready to order.

If your up for a little traveling, I went to Habberstad BMW (Phil Laccone was my sales guy) in Huntington out on the Island and with no haggling got 9% off a new order, they're one of the bigger dealers in terms of volume on LI so I guess they don't mind being more aggressive with deals. I took the same price out to my local dealer in the Hamptons and the SA said he couldn't match it or even get close

Historically we have seen Washington dealers giving the lowest discounts of any other area in the country so this seems normal. Hopefully someone will actually have a good dealer in the area that you can go to.

I am also in the Seattle area and I got the same, basically. I placed the order anyway after being told that they would "do what they could" at final delivery and that negotiations would take place then. I think it was probably dumb for me to order the car anyway without getting any sort of a commitment on a discount.

At the very least, they will be able to give you the BMW incentives. If your gut is telling you its a bad deal, you can always cancel and walk away.

I bet the dealership is gambling that once your car gets there, your emotions will take over and won't be able to walk away. Much like an impulse buy, you will be willing to pay whatever they offer just so you get the car home.

If you don't take the car, the dealer starts eating interest while it sits on the lot. You still have some negotiating power. They want it sold. I got 8% off before incentives in upstate NY. On my build, that was worth over $6,500. Push them hard. I told my dealer I was seeing people getting 8-10% off on Bimmerpost and he quickly caved and gave me the 8%

get ready to dupe they are not going to give you anything. Know very well Aggrawal GM (he is desi) and Zahibi Bellevue GM. Both are asses.

I will avoid BMW Seattle and Bellevue like a COVID

I helped extmtnbkr to order his 45e with my out of state dealer who is 2 hrs away.

If you are installing a level 2 charger, you can also get a 30% tax credit on the cost, up to $1000. IRS form 8911

Congrats. NYC here. The $7,500 tax credit sounds enticing.

Thanks! 45e seems only take 16A as max speed, which is lowest setting for a level 2 charger?

Yeah, the 45e is basically the lowest level 2 charge rate. That's my debate. It'll be my second charger. I just got solar, but my roof is small and wonky so my 8.16 kW system is maxed out.

I'm debating adding that second charger for the 45e or just plug it into a regular 110. I'm leaning on adding that second charger just b/c the Level 2 charge time, even at the low 3.x rate, drops the charge time to just under the "overnight" range. My utility company charges a "Peak" rate and "Off Peak" is just midnight to 7 AM. That's just about the charge time the 45e needs so I'm leaning that way.

If you don't have peak times or have plenty of time to charge, I wouldn't bother.

This seems high to me. I have an X5 xDrive 40i on order that retails for $77k and the 36/10k lease payment is $765/mo (before tax) with $0 down, max MSDs, and $3k incentives applied. Take away the MSDs and it's just under $800/mo before taxes.

I was in the market since 2019 Dec but I never received any quote less than $1000 PM and some dealers were even quite rude though.
I paid for my frustration.

I would highly recommend hiring one of the brokers on the Leasehackr forum. I am not trying to upset you but $1k/month with money down for a 10k lease is terrible. They are essentially giving you zero discount and even taking back some of the manufacturer rebates by marking up the money factor to the max. You should either really educate yourself on leasing and shop in a broader radius or just hire a good broker if you don't want to do the work yourself. You might pay a few hundred bucks to a broker upfront and potentially out of state shipping but you will save thousands over the course of your lease...

I'm not sure I 'beat' anyone. I was looking for a '10% off MSRP' deal with $0 down and buy rate on the money factor. I had to settle for 8% off and only got that because a local broker intervened on my behalf (gratis) or it likely would have been 7%. As others have noted, brokers may be the way to go on X5s.

Final Numbers:
MSRP: $77,495
Discount: $6,200
Incentives: $3,000
Cap Cost: $68,295
Residual: 55% (36/10k)
Money Factor: .00047 (after max MSDs)
Base Payment: $765 (not including tax)
Drive Off: $8,405 (includes MSDs, Acq Fee, 1st Payment, Documentation, RMV, etc)

And in case you are not familiar with MSDs, they are fully refundable. So in this case more than $5k paid due at signing for MSDs will be refunded at the end of the lease...
