I did what you did back in 2003. Had a 2003 BMW 535i traded in for 2003 M3 traded that for 2003 911. I can't afford that again plus my wife would probably leave me. Good luck with the AMG. It's a very nice SUV with a great interior and love the engine on that beast.

GlennC, my friend has an GLE 63s and I have driven in it quite a few times with him and without him. The exhaust on that thing can be very annoying after awhile. Also while traveling with him and 2 others I thought he was going faster than he actually was. He had waze on and a police officer showed on waze just 1/2 mile up the hwy and I told him he should slow down until we pass the police officer but he told me he was only doing 63. I was surprised by that. His benz makes a lot more noise than X5M. Good luck with yours and let us now what your getting next in the near future.

Also on the GLE 63s, I couldn't stand the cheap looking steering column trans shifter. Reminds me of an old Town Car. Just wrong to put that in a performance vehicle. |

If you had driven the x3m, you wouldn't have thought the x5m was stiff at all!
Would've saved you some money too lol. Anyway, enjoy the new ride! I've always liked the look of the MB GLE, but I just prefer BMW interior.

Still doesn't look right (to me) on a performance vehicle. Good luck with the M-B. |

i went from a e70 x5m (wifes) to a G05 m50i vs x5m. for my car went to a 2016 rr svr then 2019 svr and had everything lined up to pick up a x6mc until the stop sales which led me to looking at porsche and went with a cayenne coupe turbo s e-hybrid . 670hp turbo + 14kw battery pack.
the idrive i tell you is LIGHT YEARS ahead of PCM.

Looks nice. I am struggling myself with what to do with my 18 X5M when my lease is up in a few months. I don't mind the harshness on the newer ones, but really hate not being able to have ceramic brakes and really want to test one on the highway to see if BMW improved the electronic power steering in the new model. I have been looking at the GLE 63S and know that they can be ordered with ceramics. Interested in hearing what you think about the car. Otherwise I am going to wind up ordering a Cayenne Turbo with ceramics and having it tuned.

Question is there any reason for not being able to have ceramic brakes? I mean I totally get it with a track vehicle since they work better when hot but for a daily driver not sure I see the benefit at all?

I had ceramics on my 16 Cayenne Turbo S and they were much much better than the steel brakes on my 18 X5M. Pedal feel, confidence, pure stopping power. Really miss them. Will option them on any car I order if available.

A few more photos. Just picked it up from the detailer. Full PPF and two coats of ceramic. I'm loving the ride so far.

It’s a luxury vehicle and assuming you can afford to be playing in the $120k+ range who cares what the depreciation is??? I traded my 2019 X5 50i M-sport in on a fully loaded 2020 X7 M50i and couldn’t be happier as compromising and not being totally satisfied sucks. Looking forward to the 63 AMG report. As much as I love BMW, if they stick that new 4 series grille on the big vehicles, I will be shopping elsewhere for my next one.
