How much off MSRP should I expect for 2021 X5 s40i in the Houston area?
Looking to buy before the year runs out. However, I've been away from BMW for 3 years, so not sure what a good deal is.
Found one in the Houston area for 8.3% off MSRP, but not the color I want, so trying to negotiate a deal in San Antonio. Is 10% off MSRP before incentives too much to ask for for a vehicle on the lot? |

It's most likely total discount including incentives. Also % discount for financing + incentives is going to be higher than lease + incentives by 2+% due to higher financing incentives.

Yup... I screwed myself in MD. I told them I wanted 11% off MSRP, but they included the "rebates" in the 11%. I felt taken advantage of after I left. New 2021 X5

I'm at 13% after incentives, so not that much of a difference from what you got. But mine's for a custom order, so I guess it's a good deal.

Did you ever get the dealer information? If so, can you send me the information in a PM?

You guys have to be a little more specific with what "incentives" you're talking about. Not everyone qualifies for everything, which is why most of us use a % off BEFORE any incentives. Even that % is just a ballpark figure to aim for as that can change a bit depending on the if you're talking a base model with no options vs a loaded one.
I had the $2500 financing + $1000 loyalty (conquest is the same) + the $500 PenFed (wouldn't do the OL and I really didn't want to drive out to an event anyways). Not everyone can get the loyalty/conquest so it's not especially helpful to include the % including "incentives" just like it's not that helpful to include local/state/federal incentives as there are too many variables that don't apply to everyone. And if you're willing to cast your net out wide, whether you want a custom order or a dealer stock one shouldn't matter in terms of discount. Some dealers discount ones in stock more; others discount custom orders more. A handful don't care. No real rhyme or reason why some prioritize one type over another. |

It's the same options for the most part, no unique bonuses in terms of options to be had (except for BMW Individual). The bonus is you get to pick your whole configuration since it's custom.
Buying off the lot, naturally you're stuck with a preconfigured vehicle come as close to your checklist as possible.

I got 8% on my custom order. The dealer said they would do 10% for the ones on the lot, but I was good with the extra 2% to get exactly what I wanted.
