Does Sirius/XM Buffer when switching channels?

On my 16 F15 X5 there is radio buffering, which I use occassionaly. BUT
my real question is this...my wife '18 Honda Ody does something I've never seen before. Let's say your listening to Sirus Sat channel 33 First Wave...when you switch channel to another Sirius preset, lets say Classic Rewind, the song ALWAYS starts from the begining....at first I thought i was just lucky each time i changed channels...but now I am absolutely convinced there is buffering on at least the preset channels.
On my current F15 X5, when I turn channels, songs are usually playing midway thru.

Anyone seen this behavior on the G05 X5? I am beginning to really love that on her minivan.

The only thing I've seen is something called "time lapse" but it buffers from when you change the station, you can move backward or to "live."

Meaning it will only buffer from when you enter that station not before. If there is another way, I'd be curious to hear about it

Hmm, no smart favorites in my car. I can add favorites but have to select artist, song or sports team...am I looking in the wrong place?

Just scroll to the channel you want to add the smart favorite for and hit the Option button and you can add the channel as a smart favorite.

I was in presets tab trying to store channels as smart favorites but you have to be on the channel in the siriusXM tab of the media menu to be able to store to smart favorites

Get with the program, man. There are around 7 kinds of favourites, trivial to keep straight. Even a 30-year experience PhD rocket surgeon can figure it out.
