Lane departure warning is a safety system.
I would not suggest any new owner disabling it unless you accept the risk of disabling a safety system.

As for your comments about lane correction, it actually works very well when you change the settings to "Early Intervention". If it is at late intervention, the correction would, understandably, have to be more aggressive.

Edit: It should go without saying, all conditions mean conditions which are safe for use. Don't use it during an ice storm.

I've not driven the X5 much since getting the openpilot. It has taken over my daily driving. For first time in a very long time I feel like a passenger. It made me less fatigue at the end of the day.
