spacers

I just recieved the Dinan spacers 12mm for front and 15mm on rear. I went with 40mm and 45mm lugs. Once installed and we put a few miles on them we will include a pic and an update.

Are you completely certain that the 45mm lugs didn't "bottom out" against the back of the hub thread hole? I don't know how much depth margin there is on the hub thread holes and there is a very decent chance that both 40mm and 45mm are fine for 15mm spacers on factory wheels, but 45mm do run a (likely slight) risk of being just a little too long.

Assuming that my caution above is unfounded, you will still have to keep track of front vs rear bolts now since 45mm bolts on 12mm spacers would definitely not be ok. In hindsight, it probably would have been simpler to stay at 40mm bolts all around for the 12/15mm spacer configuration as highlighted multiple times on this thread … but it's not that big a deal either.

I'm running 12/15mm spacers with 40/45mm bolts respectively from Dinan on my X7. No issues with the 45mm bolts on 15mm spacers configuration.

I installed Dinan spacers 15/20 mm with the supplied bolts 45/50 mm. They fit great with no issues. Quality product.

Anyone using studs instead of wheel bolts with their spacers?

chuckins9 debating between the popular 12/15 setup vs perhaps what you did as middle ground between the other popular 15/20 set-up.
Can you post pics? Or did you somewhere else? Thanks.

Pics? And, importantly to this thread, what bolt size are you using and where did you source them or get the info on correct size? Thanks

12mm front goes with 40mm bolt and 17mm rear goes with 45mm. This way both are within 1mm tolerance (stock bolt is 27mm long).

I got them from Dinan's site - https://www.dinancars.com/products/w...ories/spacers/

Will upload some pics tomorrow, but if I were to choose again I will go with 10mm front, since the front tires stick out more than the rear now.

Interesting that you'd go 10mm up front. The guys at RG Sports and vast pool seem to give the impression that a 12 front/15 rear is the cleanest set-up, with 15/20 being the clean aggressive set-up. Perhaps like what you did, I was thinking of a 12/17 set-up as a happy medium...
Look forward to pics. Are you on 740m, 741m or other wheels?

I am on 740M.
The offset of different rims and tire choose will make a difference, but in my case, even 12mm front makes the OEM Pirelli tires stick out (a tad) past the fender.

It is all depending on how you look at it.
I always use the top of the fender as reference point.
Here is an example how I look at it from my view.

Just to be on the safe side would 10mm spacers all around work as well?

motherkin any updated photo's of the 12/17 spacers on your wheels, etc? vs 12/17 Finally refreshing my needs here between Dinan; FutureClassic; or H&R; 12/15 vs 12/17, etc.....
All seem good....
Cheers!

Got mine today from Dinan

Was so disappointed that 3 out of 4 have dings on them, box was intact with no physical damage. Each spacer was nicley wrapped, it blows my mind dinan puts product in such codition into packaging and ships it out to a customer. Not that big of a deal but still.....
