Dinan Wheel Spacers

Has anyone used the Dinan wheel spacers?

I'm looking to put 12mm (front) and 15mm (rear).

They suggest 40mm lug bolts. Does that sound right?

Has nobody used these? I thought Dinan was a reputable BMW aftermarket brand.

i know of Dinan for their tune more than spacers, which tend to be H&R or Future Classic

No experience with Dinan spacer and as stated, they don't seem to be known for spacers. Just for the record, I am using forged BLOXSport hubcentric spacers for winter aftermarket rims in a square setup that matches final stock offsets and am both impressed and happy with them after two seasons.

As for bolt lengths, stock bolts are 27mm and if you are using stock rims, spacers just increase bolt length required by spacer thickness. Approximately. So 12mm spacer ideal bolt is 39mm and 15mm spacer ideal bolt is 42mm; both are sufficiently close enough to 40mm that it makes 40mm a good simple, consistent, and available choice.

Note that if rims are not stock, all bets are off as their bolt hole may well not be at all the same thickness as stock and may alter required bolt lengths — that was the case in my winter rims situation, for example.

Really appreciate your feedback LexxM3. I was concerned with the bolt length and what they recommended. They only offer them in 5mm increments. Given your comment, i'll order 2 sets of 40mm.

I think i'm gonna give them a shot and place an order. H&R spacers/lugs are back-ordered.

Dinan only just released wheel spacers for the G05 in February, which may very well explain the lack of user input/feedback.

Dinan should include extended length wheel studs to accommodate for the spacers (may be different lengths for the front vs rear though 40mm should work for both 12/15mm spacers and OEM wheels).

I added 18mm First Classic v2 rear wheel spacers with my aftermarket Rohana wheels. the kit included 45mm wheel studs (27 + 18mm).

As long as the spacers are hubcentric and are thin enough to not be the-bolt-to-hub type (12mm and 15mm are thin enough), it's hard to get a spacer wrong. You should be fine with your choice.

They look decent, though it looks like extended wheel studs are sold separately.

https://www.dinancars.com/products/w...arts/D210-2028

if you're also thinking of doing painted reflectors, may wanna consider iND kit, or even reach out to them if they'll sell you a combo 12/15mm FC wheel spacer kit.

Great idea. I am interested in the painted front reflectors.

Thank you, at $200 shipped including lugs. Seems like a great price point.

For the 17mm spacer, did you end up with 40mm bolts or 45mm bolts?

Good, makes sense. I would be a bit worried if you stayed with 40mm — they would probably look like they would work, but possibly not have enough thread depth for a reliable hold under stress.

You think I should be concerned with 40mm? I just ordered 12mm front and 15mm rear with 40mm bolts. I reached out to Dinan and they reconfirmed 40mm was what they recommended. I would find it hard pressed for them to recommend the wrong length bolt for their own product no? Had to have gone under some thorough testing before launching the product and recommending don't you think?

12mm and 15mm spacers are fine and correct with 40mm bolts on stock rims. Full circle to original post above :-) https://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=27499512

OP went with 17mm spacers rather than 15mm. 17mm spacers require 45mm bolts with stock rims. Non-stock rims with any spacers (including none) require custom measurements and calcs to determine bolt length (and other attributes).

I'm looking for 12mm and 15mm spacers myself. Can you confirm how the 40mm bolts worked out for you? And if you're happy with Dinan spacers? I've always used H/R in the past and have no experience with the Dinans.

I responded to you in another thread. those Dinans look nice. they've only been on the market a few months so not a lot of reviews. can also check out the kit from iND (that's what I got, rear spacers only).

Fairly decent difference in price. I don't want to take risks with safety but Dinan has always had a great rep. I just don't know if I wanna be the guinea pig lol.

I am very happy with them. I have over a 1000 miles on them with no issues at all. The 40mm bolts are good for the 12/15mm spacers. I went 12/17 and got the 45 mm for the 17mm rears.
