This is the kit that represents a non-existent upgrade over and above 2NH equipped G05’s which will come with 395mm blue Brembo. All this kit does is replace the blue calipers with red ones (they are otherwise identical) and adds dimpled / grooved rotors.

If the car doesn’t have 395mm blue Brembos then it is an upgrade.

I purchase the red Mperformance BBK upgrade for my 2014 328i..... it was a nice upgrade. I also removed them before trading in.

When I purchased my 2016 340i, it had blue sport brakes. I though I'd re-install my red performance brakes..... only to learn that they were the exact same. In fact, the rear brake rotors wouldn't work, because the e-brake was too large.

So I installed red Mperformance calipers..... on the stock sport rotors.

Mperformance BBK is a huge ripoff.

All it is..... is red paint, and dimpled rotors. They are not any larger/better than standard sport brakes. The G05 is no different.

I want the same M drilled rotors as i have on my F16. Threw out ones that came with BBK. One bolt did not fit either on front or back, but this did not affect anything.
Drilled rotors make a huge look difference.
I have a M50i coming soon. Not sure which drilled rotors would fit.
If none - this will be a sad moment for me.

Just an off question, would the rear rotors from a X3M fit on the M50i?

I thought they had the same size hub.

I’d be willing to wage that they would...

This question has been posed before. The answer is "maybe".

Personally, I don't think so.

I've watched videos on rear brake changes on both cars. While they operate in a similar manner, the calipers are different..... which means they bolt on differently..... which means the hubs are different.

While they may be the same "size".... that doesn't mean they are the same offset, thickness, or have the same center bore size (or wheel bearing/axle size). There are too many other factors other than overall diameter and lug pattern.

We won't know for sure until someone buys a set and tries them out.

I had a set of X3M calipers sat here until last week, I’ve sold them now though otherwise I could have taken measurements!

X3M rear bolt onto G20 / G30 / G11 without issue though, so I’d assume G05 would be no different.

So it looks like they're now advertising a 4pot rear for the F95.

Any thoughts?

They have had Carbon ceramics for the G05 almost since the G05 was new.

for 23,000 Euro though??? No thanks.

I've spoken with the Tro-nik folks SEVERAL times. They have helped me out TREMENDOUSLY when researching parts.... yet, I haven't spent a dime with them yet.

To date, no reliable sources for rear BBK.

Trust me.... when one arrives, I'll buy it and post up.

Sorry to revive.

I just picked up an X7 and have a set of X5M calipers laying around. I assume it will be same setup as X5?

Yes..... it can be done, and it's not even that difficult. You can upgrade any 2019+ model X5 or X6 with an X5M 6-piston big brake kit.

Make sure you buy an ENTIRE kit:
OEM (F95 / 2020) X5M/X6M Calipers
OEM 395mm drilled/ventilated Rotors
OEM Caliper brackets
OEM Caliper bolts (M12 X 1.5 x 85mm)
OEM X5M brake pad sensor.
OEM X5M dust shields (only required if upgrading from standard brakes)

This is IMPORTANT.... The caliper bolts do not have a part number, and are incredibly difficult to find.

The caliper brackets don't have a part number either. They are sold as a part of the caliper, and because such, they are unavailable to purchase separately.

Installation is easy..... took a little over an hour per side, including bleeding.

Noteworthy items:

1) No need to remove/replace the dust shields on a vehicle with blue (or red) sport brakes (X5M rotors are 395mm, only 10mm larger than sport brakes). On vehicles with standard brakes, you probably want to make sure you get OEM X5M dust shields.

2) OEM caliper bolts are re-used. But, instead of attaching to the caliper, they attach the the BRACKET. Then, the new X5M caliper uses a second set of (X5M specific) bolts, to attach the caliper to the bracket.

G05 X5 calipers - Caliper side-bolts directly to hub
F95 X5M calipers - Caliper top-bolts to bracket. Bracket side-bolts to hub

Note: F85/86 (pre 2019) X5M brake parts are NOT compatible. Do not try to mix/match. The calipers, bolts, and brackets, and rotors are all slightly different. NOTHING will fit.

3) X5M brake pad sensors are different than sport brakes, but they are plug and play with the OEM wiring. No mods needed. But, you must get an OEM X5M brake pad sensor (only on the left side)

4) Hydrolic brake lines match up perfectly. No issues, no mods required.

5) the rotor alignment screws are NOT the same. The holes for them don't line up either, which means you cannot use the screws anymore. No safety issues, but it does make re-installingbthe wheels a little bit more difficult. To do the install, highly recommend a wheel-installation tool that will align the hub, rotor, and wheel. Otherwise, installing the wheel is difficult. Keep the tool in your car for roadside flats... just in case. I did the install without it, because my tool was at home, and it was a PITA.... but it can be done.

6) No coding required (if upgrading from sport brakes. Standard brakes may be different). Pedal feel is identical. Brake "grab" is identical. Car feels no different whatsoever.

But..... it sure looks cool

7) I HIGHLY recommend the eBay seller "testcarsbmw" in Poland. I only purchased the front, but he can hook you up with a full front & rear setup if you like. This guy DOVE THROUGH HOOPS to make sure I had everything I needed. Super great seller. Here's his eBay store: https://www.ebay.com/str/testcarsbmw

As long as they are from the same platform (G05/G06/G07 to F95/F96)... They yes, they will work. Be 100% sure you have the brackets, and the bolts from the X5M caliper. BMW will not sell them to you separately, and they are not available aftermarket.

X5M calipers from an earlier generation will not work. Well, "maybe" they would, if you were to get same-year rotors, and have them re-drilled to the newer lug pattern. They definitely won't be a "direct fit"

No.... In fact, I went to BMW directly and asked this question. The bolts, and the brackets are NOT individually obtainable, because they come as part of the caliper. So, the only way to get a new set, would be to buy the whole caliper.

"Maybe" you can find a used set on eBay?? Doubtful

But..... you can go aftermarket.

Thanks to Tro-nix in Russia, they gave me the correct dimensions and length, so you may have more luck writing a few hardware suppliers and asking for a "M12 X 1.5 x 85mm"

I went through this EXACT stress, because the initial shipment only included the calipers. Then, I wrote the seller, and he graciously went back out to the car and pulled off the brackets too, as well as the bolts, because i wasn't able to source them anywhere.

I'm not sure what is available for the X5M calipers.... but whatever it is, it HAS to be better than those OEM pads. They literally squeal SO LOUDLY every time I apply the brakes at slow speeds. If I'm stuck in traffic.... constantly stop and go.... the squealing is enough to give you a brain aneurism.

Anyway... I wrote RGSport again. I'm sure they'll hook me up
