Possible however I have driven to 27k on my F15 before changing tires and my F90 had 23k miles on summers with only changing one tire due to a blowout.

Was your f15 an M car? The f90 is a lot lighter and depending on which summer you choose, it's possible you had one with Treadwell rating in the 500 range, thus getting decent range.

As you'll soon find out, the 315/30/22 rear tire size is an odd ball bespoke size where there is literally no choices in tires and what is available in summers won't last you anywhere near 30k.

In my own experience, I have 2500 miles on my Michelin PS4S and they measure 6/32. New, the tires measure 9/32. I don't expect my set to last me 10k.

Tbf F15 was not an M car. On the F90 I had the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S as well.

I guess I am in for a rude awakening with the X5 M then yikes.

My Pirelli Scorpion Winter are finally arriving on Monday after having to purchase the rears from ebay through an Italian seller.

For the 8 months I'll have summers on I am glad the Pilot Sport 4S fit the car as they are really great but also very expensive. But hey we are driving very expensive cars

I budget 1 tire change a year at around $2500. Not terrible, but annoying only because of the lack of tire choices.

We're all in the same boat, but what a fun boat it is!

I'm guessing you ride on Michelins as well? Do you buy from tire rack or is there a better option for pricing and possibly tax savings out there?

And yes. It is the most fun boat there is

Yep. Read my first post PS4S.

I bought the rears from tire rack as they were available today, and the fronts from my local tire shop (because they were the only ones that had availability)

In quick research, the tires are not always readily available so I'd like to keep a few sets on deck.

^ this! One tires change every 18 months should be in the budget. Our F95/96 are 5K lbs 600HP+ beast…this is a small price to pay.

It's more like 5-6 months you'll be on winters. I'm in NJ and usually make the switch to winters mid-Nov and back to summers in early April. I usually wait for temps to average in the 40s to switch back to summers and for it to dip in the mid-40s to switch to winters.

So even the stock OEM Michelins on our F95/96 cars have a pro-rated warranty from Michelin?

I see Michelin has a new PS5 line of tires coming out next month. Wonder if they will make them in the 21/22 sizes for our cars?

Yes and no, when I called them they said they no longer do tread warranty on OEM tires, they ended that in 2018.

However, as you can read, some members here were able to get them pro rated. I myself will try as l hit 4/32 soon enough.

Just remember that the measurements must be uniform across the whole tire. If somehow you have negative camber or more wear on the outside edges due to over inflation, they will deny you.

It's a good warranty as there is no possibility of the rear ps4s getting over 15k on the rear on our cars.

I'm hoping the ps5 will have at least 350+ Treadwell rating on the 21/22 sizes.

Just saw the info about the pilot sport 5 coming out soon but also saw that initially they'll only be available up to 21" welp.

On a side note, when shopping for PS4S on tire rack I noticed they list the same size on multiple pages with different prices. Can anyone explain why? This is the case on Costco as well

Thank you

What is the actual difference between the 2? All the specs and photos look identical except one page says BMW and the other does not

Compound and tread pattern specific to BMW. Helps with temperature control and wear, tailored to specific vehicle.

I always try to get the star if possible.

Thank you for the video.

After watching this I think the extra $40+- per tire is worth it even to just know you have em

I always get the star rated tires, but with them wearing out so fast not sure if worth the extra $50 a tire.

Can you outline the process you went through with Michelin to get the pro-rated discount?

I called Michelin and created a claim number. I had my service advisor measure 3 points of tread depth on each tire and sent it to Michelin and a supervisor approved the credit and they sent to you me via a Chase ach.

Hi bud! I had mine replaced at 5k miles after the dealer kept bugging me. Told them that I would have Michelin pay for the tires and they laughed at me. Contacted Michelin and let them know of the issue. Then, gave a fat 6 on the survey to the dealer for not being very helpful. You need to make sure you show as a detractor as the dealer will contact you to resolve. 0-6 = detractor; 7-8 = passive; 9-10 = promoter ( NpS nomenclature).

The dealer will call you, you let them know about the tires and warranty and then they will help. I have them a 6 because I didn't want to piss them off but wanted a follow-up. If your dealer collaborates from the get go, give them a 10.

I had new rears put on, mounted and balanced, and aligned the car for $500. Michelin paid the dealer 66% of the cost of the tire, which ai can appreciate because it makes sense that I pay for the life of the tire I used (33%).

I did tell Michelin that if they did not show up, that would be the last set ai would ever buy. I have bought more than 50 Michelin tires in my lifetime. I can now reassure that they sell good tires and have decent customer service.

P.S: the dealership respects me a little more after that incident 😬
