Description: Suspension systems that not only transform the stance of the vehicle but also maintain ride quality and improve upon handling are what Dinan suspensions are known for. This is accomplished by pairing springs sets with bump stops spring perches or both to maintain suspension travel resulting in a smooth ride while also improving mechanical grip and handling. This is what makes Dinan suspension systems unique. While we are able to sell each component separately, it is highly recommended that both the spring sets and the supplemental ride quality and handling kits are used in tandem in order to maintain the Dinan quality standards our customers are used to. Experience the Dinan difference with this combination and enjoy the ride it provides.

Dinan's Performance Spring set for the F95 X5M and F96 X6M provides greater control over body roll by virtue of carefully calibrated spring rates. Additionally, Dinan lowers the car for improved suspension geometry and an even more aggressive stance. The Dinan springs are CNC wound with high tensile chrome silicon wire and shot-peened for stress relief to last the life of the car. The increase in stiffness will reduce the rear suspension compression under acceleration and front suspension compression (or dive) under braking, giving your car a more controlled feel. The Dinan performance springs will also provide a noticeable improvement in grip for high-speed driving situations that will inspire confidence in your car's capabilities. The reduced body roll makes the steering more responsive to driver input and will be noticed at low speeds up to the top speed of the vehicle.

NOTE: Dinan Performance Spring sets should be purchased and installed with the corresponding Ride Quality and Handling Kit to achieve the advertised ride height performance and ride quality. While not explicitly required, if the matching component is not purchased and installed you will get less than favorable results in the form of poor ride quality and improper handling traits. While we will maintain a full warranty on product defects any claims against the cars improper handling ride quality traits due to not purchasing the corresponding handling kit will not be warranted.

Features/Benefits:
  • Vehicle lowered 1-3/8" (35mm) in the front and rear
  • 20% increase in spring stiffness in front and rear
  • Substantial reduction in body roll
  • Preset to prevent spring sag
  • Includes (2) front and (2) rear dual rate springs (Ride Quality and Handling Kit sold separately)

Any additional photos or just the one above?
Does it ride stiffer than stock or firmer?

20% stiffer springrate and shorter springs. I'm gonna say firmer.

Thats the only one handy I have. Currently up on a lift getting some other things installed but once its back together and on the ground I will take a few more quick photos. Looking for something in particular?

As far as ride quality -- that ranges quite a bit by person and their individual tolerances but I don't find it any stiffer personally. Just more planted / less floaty.

Another profile shot. Angle shot from front and rear. Only asking because the H&R decrease by 1.4" F/R but the Dinan look lower from the photo above.

If they ride the way the F85 Dinan springs I had did then I am sold but the F95 is way firmer all around and jarring from the factory in Sport/Sport+ so aiming for something that will improve the looks but not make the ride any more stiffer than factory.

She's filthy and currently immovable but some extra shots as requested.

F85 comparison is a bit hard as that vehicle had an air suspension in the rear. Regardless the front was 10% stiffer so if you didnt feel a degradation there from stock to Dinan I doubt you would see a negative on the F95. I wouldn't overly concern yourself with the % stiffness spec as its hard to quantify to a feeling -- especially when the spring design from one to the other is altered. The F95 stock springs are linear up front and progressive in the rear whereas the Dinan springs in both front and rear are dual rate (2 linear rates squashed together -- kind of a hybrid between linear and progressive). So the front just by that should take small road imperfections better than stock regardless.

Side by sides of before and after heights on wheels and total car would be nice for comparison sake.

That's a great looking stance. Ok, so what's the difference between the Dinan springs compared to the MSS set? I'm just curious unfortunately because I already installed MSS springs. But maybe I would have gone the Dinan route had I waited longer.

11 hrs (includes alignment) is what we list. We list all install times under the specs tab on the product page for reference. For spring installs our times are based upon BMW dealer flat rate times (KSD) so they should be viewed with that in mind. Taking the car to an independent shop will almost certainly be quoted as something less as that is pretty typical withe the dealer suspension labor times.

Sounds like a great product. You folks plan on offering monoballs up front like you have on the other cars?

No plans for a monoball kit for the X5M/X6M that I am aware of. Generally, the big SUV's are the core 4 categories only (tuning, exhaust, intake, and base suspension (springs/bumpstops)).

That's the bumpstops. Linked in the OP as well as listed as a recommended item on the product page.

No one in the UK actually stocks parts but you can give the primary importer (AwesomeGTI) a call at 0161 776 0777 and see what they can offer. They are primarily a VW/Audi focused entity but have access to the Dinan catalog as well. Alternatively you could order from any number of online etailers (or forum vendors here) that carry the line and ship internationally.

So I'm looking at these vs MSS because I'd rather have springs over coilovers that I'll never adjust.

I've heard MSS does soften the ride a bit which would be good and these says that it stiffened the ride and I'm not sure I would like that. Who has these installed and what's your take on the before and after ride quality? anyone with a 2024 install these yet?

I had the MSS setup on my car for 150 miles and then took it off. Car was bouncy and felt like it had too much rebound for the spring rate they selected. Low speed rebound felt weird too as the car would have a bit of a pendulum effect. God forbid you hit a bump at speed, it felt like you were in a boat.

Hey Dinan guys - I have a shop. Send me your kit and I'll roast/praise it. DM me and we can work something out.

Good feedback, thanks for posting your experience. Seems like a classic case of lowering springs undersprung/mismatched to the dampers, especially with the height drop between stock to these. Always a compromise with just a spring upgrade (whether it’s MSS, Dinan, H&R or whatever). Most do it for the looks so proably don’t care, but you’re giving up so much in ride dynamics if you get a bad match between damper and spring.

This may already be out there, but do we know the spring rates on the stock X5M? Would be interesting to compare the stock spring rates against the more common options out there. But going softer than stock and dumping it 1-2” at the same time seems like a recipe for a shitty ride.
