Savoy2001 I like how yours is installed compared to the pics from carbon guards. The top of the guard doesn't protrude out.

Ya I had the body shop install them since I had the car there for paint work because of all the rock chips on the rockers. I had them re spray the hood and nose as well. They did a great job.

Your fitment does look better. Just wondering how long ago you installed them as I'm not sure this will give as much protection as the standard placement (mine are arriving any day)

The carbon guards arrived yesterday. The seller shipped pretty quick from Chicago to NY.

The kit includes a bottle of adhesion promoter and brushes to apply it. I will be doing a mock up of them on my car.

I won’t be installing them until end of April since my car is getting wrapped in two weeks.

Over all quality seems really good. I just need to figure out how to secure them with a pop rivet for extra security. I don’t want to lose one going down the road. Ice and snow build up during thr winters is my biggest concen.

The seller said they have a lifetime warranty so they will replace them if you end up losing one.

3 x5s (1 M501, 2 X5MCs) - never an issue, and defiantly not ruined. Are you offroading?

Are these the glossy or matte carbon fibre? Can’t tell with the expel on top.

Mine as glossy but if I recall correctly when ordering you can pick which you prefer as well as different types of carbon weave.

when I ordered my car and talking of options with the SA I asked about BMW mud guards as I didn't see any as an option or in accessories. I said don't they make a discreet mud guard and he said BMW didn't offer any due to an increase in noise. I guess he meant wind. After seeing these in this link I can't imagine they would make noise but that's what he said. Strange Strange not to offer something for an SUV. Some here may have a before and after real world comment. I had ones similar to ones here for my Charger SRT and I didn't notice increased wind noise but I had other good sounds to cover.

For those who have these installed, did you take off the wheels? I happened to see an install video with the G80 version and the guy removed the rear wheels. Thanks

No need to take the wheels off because there are no screws or rivets to remove or install on the X5/X6 versions just 3m tape.

Finishing touches getting done with the wrap tomorrow and I’ll be installing these carbon guards.

Anyone have an idea which are for fronts and rears? I mocked them up quickly today and I sort of got an idea.

It seems like my kit is different from the pics I found online. Looks like the front guards has a corner cut out.

Do you have any pics of the guards installed?

The color is satin dark grey I believe 3m is the brand. I picked up the vehicle Friday night but it was calling for rain that night so I didn’t want to risk it.

Now we have 5 days of straight rain…I want to be able to let the vehicle sit for at least a full day so the 3m tape can cure.

It’s looking Friday/Saturday weather should be better. Gotta wash the car and give the fender well area a good cleaning.

Some pics of the finished wrap
