Air Suspension Highway Setting

Hi, picked up my 2023 X5 30d Msport with 22inch wheels and Air Suspension a month ago here in Australia.

I love the ride around town but can't seem to get the best setting for highway travel. It seems to rock back and forth over our crap bumpy highways sitting on 100Kms p/hr.

I have tried combinations of standard/lower ride heights and comfort/sport dampers but am now confused.

I have read somewhere in Bimmerpost that lower air setting actually has less air and therefore more bouncy.

Any thoughts on best ride height/shock setting?

When I had air suspension I configured sport individual to regular suspension height vs down one. To me this was best as it firmed up the ride but with more travel vs down a notch and worked the best for me. Different model years or regionals may work differently.

I thought the air was too soft until I got ride of it, then missed it. Also, make sure tire pressure is good.

Is not really about the ride height. Sport rides nice and stiff. Comfort makes for a sloppy ride.

Thanks Slicky, sounds like Sport mode is the way to go on the highway.

Sorry if I wasn’t clear, sport and up a notch - middle setting (configured in sport individual mode). Default Sport (down one) might be good too but can be harsh. To get into sport individual or sport plus hit the sport button more than once.

I find the default NORMAL suspension level too soft on the highway. I prefer SPORT suspension level

first year owning G05 I had mode set to adaptive and therefore found myself changing ride height into sport mode position every time, so I ended up changing it again at the beginning of second year into sport Individual and now car goes into that mode and height automatically when I get in and start driving.

might not be for everyone but its working well for me

note: settings were changed using bimmercode
