what is widest spacer setup i can go with?
Hello, I'm looking at upgrading my stock 20s to 22inch square setup with all seasons. I do lots of snow driving and want DWS06.
thinking 285/35/22 front an rear and adding spacers to both front an rear to give a wider stance. what is widest spacer setup I can go with? and will this wheel sizing work for both front and rear 22x10.5? or do I need to go smaller? I'm looking at Savani BM16 wheels and they have many options for the offsets. So I suppose i could just skip the spacers and have the offset done on the wheel. any recommendations for that? https://www.fitmentindustries.com/st...ni&wmodel=BM16 thanks in advance for any help figuring this out |

If you have the options to custom order the offset that is the way to go.
To give you an idea, here is my car running OEM 22” wheels and 18/25 spacers. It is on air suspension and at loading height. Everyone has a different idea in what “flush” is and if you are planning on lowering the car that will affect the “flush” look as the wheel will camber in. I suggest to look at alot of pictures, there is a lot in this forum where people shared their wheel size and offset. If I can give you advise based on my owm experience is to go with the less aggressive setup as you can always add a small spacer versus going aggressive and having to shave the wheels. |

I have 22"s but I decided to up the wheel diameter to maintain the same sidewall as the factory 21" setup. This results in a tire diameter of 30.5"-30.7", which is the maximum diameter i feel you can get away with without rubbing at full lock (i literally have less than a 1/8th of an inch between the tire and fender at full lock). I always felt the wheel diameter of the X5s were too small for its body and the 1 inch increase in diameter from stock makes a pretty big difference....plus I wanted to maintain as much of the stock ride quality as possible. I also have 25mm spacers all around to flush things out. I kept the staggered layout since I have sdrive...275/40/22 in the front and 305/35/22 in the rear.
(the last pic is before I blacked out some of the trim) |

1/8” clearance at static load condition? How about dynamic condition say you hit a bump at full lock? Or making a relatively fast u-turn, does it still clear?

Chineywhale would you be willing to share some more photos? A photo straight down the side taken from the back, and straight down the side taken from the front - so we can see the amount of poke? And any other photos bonus too
