What do I need to track my order/build? All I have so far is a quote, a receipt for my deposit, a verbal allocation confirmation, and a verbal scheduled build date - March 24.

If you have an order with BMW then your dealer should be able to give you the production number. If they can't then it means they don't have an allocation and they put your order in the order bank waiting for a future allocation.

It is odd that they are giving you a specific build date.

They told me another Autonation dealer owed them an allocation and they got that one for me. I will ask for the production number and see what happens.

That could be since dealers trade allocations. When you get your production number then you can add it in MyGarage and track it. Also give Genius a call and they can give you your production week. About two weeks prior to that you will go into the Production Begins status. Thus does not mean that assembly has begun but rather that a VIN has been assigned and parts ordered/allocated. At that time you can use the "F12" process to get your assembly date.

You don't have to track, but if you want to know where it is, just look at the production week, your exec consultant can give you that. Once its in production, its usually like a week for me to build and ready to deliver within a month after that. Mine was super fast.
