$80,000 MSRP limit will take most of 50e purchases out of eligibility.

Exactly! Why the heck do they do this? Why should a better stereo, trailer hitch, or leather seats cause you to lose out on an EV tax credit?

Garage List
What if i build one just under 80k? I usually build mine fairly sparse. Does it need to be bought asap?
I am just about about to get one of these 50e monsters so this is quite the news for me.

The MSRP limit is 80k not including destination and handling. It will qualify through the end of 2023. 2024 eligibility will be determined later in the year.

Yeah I went over $80k after the 50e wasn’t on the list and added ACC. So that option cost me $6k. Thanks BMW.

I feel your pain. It’s probably too late to get a comparable 40e at this point.

Asked my dealer to provide a benefit to me since I’m leasing. They said no, as Turtleboy suggested I should expect. Unfortunately…

Is it crazy to order one of these without a premium package so I can get 21” rims?

I’ve had the HUD disabled in my 2020 X5 since I find it distracting. But am just thinking for resale.

I can’t stand the direction BMW has gone with the forced bundling to get options I care about.

I also found it frustrating that the driver’s assistant features will only be active for 8 years after purchase and will subsequently be disabled after that. You’re going to pay a lot of $ for features that won’t be available.

That is not correct, they will not be disabled after 8 years. What may be disabled is Highway Assistant, the rest of the package will work just fine.

Not crazy at all, it is your vehicle. Options/features have very little impact on resale values so no need to worry about that.

Good for you, and I could no see giving anything up to get down to 80k.
Black Sapphire Metallic
Tartufo Extended Merino Leather
Parking Assistance Package
Premium Package
climate Comfort Package
Multi-contour seats
Total $80,400 (just over)

destination $995
Total $81,395
Dealer Incentives $1,500
Military $2,000
Total $77,895

Now the waiting game.

Just found out today a dealer in the area has an allocation due to someone just canceled their build and it has hit production yet. Was going to change but I'm not in a hurry. The dealership we've been working with has been good. I just ordered the all weather rubber liners front and back and rubber cargo liner. Total $442.60
Front Liners $147.06, Back liners $105.94, Cargo Liner $189.60.

Will you get the tax credit or is it based on MSRP of car?

It’s based on MSRP minus Delivery fees
Then there’s the income qualification
