Pappy- what color is your build? I’m thinking my issue is Tanzanite as the premium paint seems to be scarce.

Mineral white metallic. There is something on BMWs build page for the X5 stating that Tanzanite, Dravit and Ametrin having longer build times.

Hi Everyone I'm new to BMW and just ordered an X5 xDrive40i on 11/25. My tracking is showing Production Begins. It has been here since a few days after I ordered it. I called Genius yesterday and she told me that I have been in production since 11/30 and I have a 12/12 build date. My question is where are all of you finding these codes (112, 150 etc) my tracking does not show any numeric codes. Im hoping it will make it to NJ before Christmas.

Is it true that the cars coming in to Texas need to go to a processing center in Galveston? Dealer says they take 2-5 week to process the cars there and then they get moved to Austin. Makes no sense to me

No, that is not true at all. Your X5/X6 will be shipped via truck from the factory in South Carolina directly to Austin. Barring you're not having any accessories installed. Even then the accessories are installed at a facility next to the factory.

Welcome to the forum. You can see the number codes by using the "F12" process but most folks just refer to the code rather than the description. Here are links to the codes and the process.

Did you order any accessories, floor mats, first aid kit, etc? If so then likely not. If you didn't then barring any delays in QC or a carrier you have a shot at getting it.

Dealer had the mats as part of the previous build configuration. By the time I got back to him the car went to production. So yes its in there.

I guess will cross my fingers and hope for the best.

Good luck, hope it works out for you. We have been seeing about an extra three to five days when mats are ordered, hopefully they are getting quicker with that.

Got mine on Friday boys, blast to drive. Picked it up during a light(ish) snowfall and it handled perfectly in the snow. It is also extremely dirty now and cannot wash until the ppf fully cures.

I did end up cancelling my order and picking up an inventory one at a different dealer. If anyone is in the Denver metro area there will be a MBB M60i coming in the next 3-4 weeks at Downtown Denver BMW, I would guess you can probably negotiate a great deal on that one, I was getting $5.5K off or ~6% on the allocation build for reference.

What is the difference between "Dispatched from Factory" and "In Transit"?

For the most part nothing. Those codes are used for all plants so there are various ways of shipping. When a vehicle leaves a plant it is in the Dispatched status. If they hit a Port (whether on a ship or a rail yard in the case of trains) then when the leave the port they will go to the In Transit status. For most vehicles going from SC they will only be dispatched.
