I've noticed while accelerating hard, there's a minor vibration or shudder through the car. It's most noticeable in second gear at full throttle. Has anyone else experienced this?

Anyone else experiencing this? It is most noticeable in first and second gear when passing through 3,000 RPM at moderate to full throttle. There's a quick vibration or shudder through the car as it passes through 3,000 RPM.

The dealer said they could not reproduce it.

You really feel it during spirited driving (most of the time for me), not going full out but not granny driving.

My CA said keep it under 100 mph was only rule.

Update --
I took it back to the shop 2 days ago and rode with the tech to demonstrate it. Once we got to a smooth road, we could easily reproduce it over and over. Put it in manual mode in second gear, get it down to about 2,000 RPMs, and then floor it. You'll feel the vibration as you pass through approx. 3,000 RPMs.

The shop has opened a PUMA case for it. They drove other 2019 X5s and felt the same vibration in some but not others. I hope they figure out what is causing this because once you feel it, you'll notice it every time you drive it.

Can anyone else try to see if this happens to your X5?

My car is still in the shop with an open PUMA case. I was told that both the dealer and PUMA case people have driven other X5s and almost all of them exhibit this vibration. I'm fearing that they are going to call this "normal."

Find a smooth road, put it in second gear at low RPMs, and then accelerate briskly. See if there is a vibration as you pass through ~3,000 RPMs.

Got my X5 back today. Unfortunately while acknowledging the presence of the vibration, they were unable to fix it. They called it normal behavior as they experienced it on other X5s.

Hate to resurrect this old thread, but I'm honestly surprised I haven't seen any other reports of this issue. I had another X5 as a loaner this week, and it had the same vibration while passing through 3k RPM. Honestly I'm just glad I've felt it myself on another X5.

Anyone else noticing this?

It happens to me when I accelerate from a standstill, but I am not acelerating that hard. I get a minor vibration/shake, but once the wheels get rolling it's fine.

No shudder in my car.

Try checking the wheel alignment? ...bad wheel alignment can cause shuddering at varying speeds.

I have the same thing but I think it is earlier that 3000 rpm and not necessarily on second gear. It happens all the time I'm starting an acceleration.

What size wheel and engine do you guys have? I have noticed this on my f15 when I had bigger wheels on 21/22s. But when I switched back to my 19s it was smooth as silk.

I have the 40i with 20s. The loaner I had was a 40i with 19s.

When my X5 was in the shop for 2 weeks, they swapped out my wheels with another X5 — still vibration. They dismounted, turned, and remounted all tires — still vibration. I am convinced it's something in the driveline and not the tires/wheels. It only happens when passing through 3000 RPM at mid to heavy throttle, only really noticeable in first and second gear. Just such a blemish for an otherwise beautifully smooth engine and transmission.

If I lived in a place that wasn't flat as a pancake I might try higher gears at 3000 rpm to bog down the engine.

My G06 feels the same vibration. I noticed this at a fast acceleration from 40-50 km h. (25 mph-31 mph) This is repeated at each acceleration. It makes me sad. There were no problems on my F15!

I have experienced the same thing. The vibration does not last long and I wouldn't call it severe but it's noticeable and I'd rather it not be there. I thought it was 3rd gear but it could be 2nd, same RPM mentioned here and it doesn't need to be 'hard' acceleration for this to happen in my G05. To me it seems like maybe a trans issue because the same RPM in other gears is OK eliminating the engine in my mind? Keep us posted.

Same here, M50d G06! It sounds more like a smooth grind than a vibration. A friend of mine called it a woosh of air, to me it sounds like a ball is rolling from one side to another inside the gas tank. Noticable at mild acceleration only, M50d exhaust sound covers it otherwise.

I started another thread about slow speed vibration so it's different than yours (Yes I did search but didn't find anything similiar).

My situation is, at parking lot speeds, when you are maneuvering and give it slight gas it feels "harsh". It's either a vibration or some kind of motor noise. I'd say it's around 1200-1500 RPM vs your 3000 RPM situation.

Hi, Did your problem get solved? I have the same symptoms and can also feel vibration through steering wheel on tick over.

I've had it back to BMW they have did countless tests and changed front pulley and it's still the same. Seems to get smoother once engine is warm. Car is G05 M50D

Just adding myself to this list - G06 X6 40i - mild vibrations in floor area only from engine at idle (sometimes), when pulling off especially up hill, low speed manoeuvring like parking and reversing when steering wheel is turned.

Also vibrations in same foot area when driving over not-so smooth roads even when car is in neutral and just rolling down a hill.

In my car at least, as I get it from the engine AND the road, I figure something is not as insulated as it should be, allowing any external vibrations to be felt more than they should be in the floor of the car.
