Coworker Christmas

I like alliteration but the question really applies to all of the December Holidays and New Year’s Day.

What do you give to your coworkers? Bosses, peers, subordinates?

I gave my boss a gift (about $80) appropriate for his new condo and contributed another $60 toward a group gift.

I gave each of my direct reports a $100 gift card.

I gave the guy in the garage that takes care of my company car a $25 gift card - I would give more but he gets so excited at that that I’m afraid more would give him a stroke. Seriously.

I give each of my peers a handshake.

We don’t send cards anymore.

Must be nice! My company only looks out for their management and not the workers. I asked the boss if he can pick up a small Christmas Tree and he said it's not in the budget. I said this company makes millions of dollars every year in the pipeline industry and you can't buy a damn $100 Christmas Tree?

My boss is so cheap that at the last Safety Meeting he spent $80 on pizza and only gave the driver a $2 tip

I take a department of people at my largest client to lunch, which happens tomorrow. Otherwise, I have no boss and no co-workers as I am self-employed.

Never underestimate the hand written card to employees.
Nobody wants to give it, but it’s nice to receive.

My company typically gives out a gift card to every employee equal to $100 for every year they have worked there.

We took my wifes 100 employees to Las Vegas this year. We all stayed at Caesars Palace in the Palace Tower. We paid for 2 nights and if they wanted to stay longer that was on them, we also paid for the airfare from Hou to Las. We also had one catered meal in the banquet room in Caesars. All in it was about 1k a head.

From the company itself, all non-C Suite employees received a bonus equal to 3% of their annual salary as a Christmas Bonus.

My direct bosses both gave me a nice card, some candy, and a small gift card to get a decent meal at a local restaurant. Very thoughtful.

For any employees that work with me, a simple 'Merry Christmas' was sufficient for all of us.

For employees subordinate to me, I don't really have much interaction with them, so I didn't do anything.

Currently I buy for those who gift me. In the past I used to buy my employees a nice bottle of wine and a gift card for dinner for two at various restaurants.

My closest friend sent me a pic of his bonus just a few moments ago. He received a check for $10k for his bonus this year. I would be jealous but I can't be. I'm happy for and proud of him.

I have over one (1) million coworkers who I have never met.

They’d be lucky if they got a middle finger from me if I ever do run into them.

Merry Christmas everyone!

And for those who are offended by the above statement (cause you never know), Happy Holidays!

My boss gave me a Christmas card. She's a devout Veggie, so I'm going to pick some fresh greens from my garden Sunday night and give to her Monday morning.

I and a few other direct supers are buying everyone under us breakfast tomorrow.

I sold back 80 hours leave, got my longevity pay, and normal 80 hours last pay period. Was over 10K gross, but the dirty Feds and Franchise tax board took over 3K

FTFY

Give a card, get a card. Nothing super expensive, but something thoughtful.

"longevity pay. A contractual agreement to provide annual compensation to an employee based on seniority. Longevity pay is often given to employees at the top of the pay scale as compensation for their service."

I never did agree with giving people that already make the most even more just because they make the most.
