iDrive Doesn’t Shut Off

I think this has been covered already, but I can’t find the thread. All of a sudden, my iDrive does not shut off when the car is turned off. Doesn’t matter if I turn the car off before or after opening the driver door, iDrive stay on until I either lock the doors, or hold the volume button down for a few seconds. Rebooting iDrive does not fix this.

Any ideas?

Check to see if your car is set to go into "idle state" (I don't know why they just can't call it "off"!) when you open the door.

Car > Settings > Doors/Access > turn off vehicle after opening doors

Every once in a while mine will stay on, figure it just wants to finish a good song? Mine will turnoff after I walk away and it locks. If you start it again and turn it off that also seems to work.
