Front cigarette lighter outlet

Is the outlet in the front console between the cupholders on all the time? I plugged a phone charger in and it stayed on after I locked the door. I didn't stand there very long to see if it would eventually turn off.

It should turn off, otherwise your battery would drain much faster

That's what I was thinking. I'll plug the charger in tomorrow and check it after 10 minutes to see if it does turn off once the doors are locked.

It should shut off power to the socket once the car is in Idle state. Did you set yours up to do that when a door is opened? If not, then it should go into Idle automatically after a few minutes of no activity.

be sure you don't have the key on you because it may get power when the car unlocks via comfort access

Confirmed this am that the plug does go cold about 10 minutes after locking the doors. The 4 way flasher light also stays on for the same amount of time. I have a USB plug that we will leave in this outlet for my wife's phone. Mine will be in the center console since it uses a USB-C outlet.
