idrive 8.5/CarPlay

I just got the x5 m60i about a week ago, great car except Apple CarPlay sometimes just disappeared and I had to do the hard reset and re-pair the phone to get it back. Today it happened again and I noticed that all my previous sound settings like bass or treble all returned to default. I am not sure what’s going on. IOS 17 just came out today and I don’t know if I upgrade it’s going to make this worse. Does anyone have any similar issues?

I am following ... updated to iOS 17 and now CarPlay no longer works at all.... I have deleted and repaired several times. Bluetooth connection working fine but Car Play is not showing up.

I will reboot x drive and report back.

I had Finally got my CarPlay working and connected again for about a week it worked flawlessly and now over the weekend it went out again. Will not connect. There is certainly some type of bug in whichever idrive 8.5 we got in August.

Have tried Other iphone models running different iOS and they have the same issue when the car is acting like this.

Genius line will only tell me to go to the dealership

I have ios 17 and CarPlay works as intended. Very occasionally it doesnt connect when I start the car. But it works the next time I go somewhere.

FYI, I’m having the same issue with my new X5 running 07/2023.45 software and my iPhone 12 Pro Max running OS 16.7. So not specific to the new iPhones or OS 17.

When if fails to connect with CarPlay, it’s also failing Bluetooth. Attempting to manually pair from the phone or the vehicle fails too. Often turning the vehicle fully off and then on again works.
