Hmm, what you have is a flash tune for increased range.
I don't know whether it will work on top of that or not.
You may need to ask Mission about that.

I ignored the first question since you have flash tune by Mission to give your more range.
As I mentioned before, I am familiar on how their product work, so you have to ask them if it is ok to add RaceChip on top of their tune or not.
RaceChip doesn't recommend to stack their product with any flash tune products.

But, for your information, RaceChip GTS Black for 45e advertised at +57 hp and +76 lb-ft torque gain.

I don't have a flash tune by mission, I'm trying to figure out if I must choose one over the other, or ideally, have both.

Thank you for the response.

That's the part where I don't understand.
Based on their website, it seems like a flash tune to increase your battery range.

It is the understanding of the community that you must pick one or the other; you want extended range (which presumable cuts power a bit - though maybe they work magic); OR you want to increase power output.

I think getting the best of BOTH is what EVERYONE that considers tunning would go for...I've wrote before that this is the what we all want. I have NOT seen this available (YET).

Seperately, does ANYONE has real world feedback on a tune (ex. RaceChip or other) with the 45e?

From what I read the Mission Performance range extender is just that. In the EU they can use the full battery capacity. In the US there is some regulation/warranty clause that artificially limits it. I bet this hacks it to allow the EU like style function with some optimization as well. This solution is unique as the OBD flashing in general for this year/ECU has only been done by Mission Performance thus far IIRC. Nice that they lock the flash counter as well.

You should be able to use both as one is a flash (not performance related) and one is a piggyback. Regardless, I've used performance related flash (BM3, MP, MHD, JB4 BEF, Cobb, Dinan) and performance related piggybacks (JB4) in conjunction in the past. No reason it wouldn't work, IMO.

See here for more discussion:

Has anyone done a dragy (or something similar) comparing a stock M50i vs the 40i with the RaceChip GTS Black in Race setting (assuming 93 gas)?

May look into an X5/X6. Coming from an X4M that blows the doors of a TUNED a X5M/X6M. So, not sure if I even want the M50i for the extra $$$.

Has anyone tested adding a bit of ethanol (say 2 gallons) to help with timing while running the RaceChip and noticed a difference? These cars built to handle up to 25% (IIRC from the manual).

Likely not due to using the same connectors. In general, it also wouldn't make sense as they do similar things. I say go RaceChip unless you are doing many custom things (ethanol, bigger turbo, etc) and like to tinker.

JB4 has more power potential with many options. However, if you want a simple plug in play and refined set it and forget it tune - Go with racechip. I spent weeks messing with Jb4 and was doing all kinds of custom back-end fuel mapping and using JB4 for boost control and other things. In the end, I did get much more power. I still prefer a simple flash tune or piggyback and be done now. Also, if you're not good with tech you can mess up your car with Jb4 - say you run map 7 on 91 and not realize it..

P.S. this is the RaceChip thread

Hey guys! Glad to find this thread. I'm starting to work on my BMW. I'm trying to install the Racechip GTS Black on my 2019 X5 50i (4.4L V8) but can't get Racechip to give me the correct instructions. Can anyone help? Main issue is finding the turbo boost sensor.

I have sold thousands of them and no single issue of voided warranty when they are removed.

Well, you certainly steered me right with the MSS springs & spacers, so let’s do it!
Unless of course you know Dinan or Carbauhn is going to offer flash any day now. Lol!
