Crossing time zones with iDrive 8.5.
I took the '24 X5 m60i on its first long road trip this weekend. When I crossed from Central to Eastern the clock didn't auto update. I continued driving for 15 mins. Nothing. So I went into settings, toggled the auto-update switch, and all was well.
I noticed the same on the way back. This time I stopped for gas about 5 miles after crossing time zones. On restart, the clock was still stuck with the wrong time. So I had to toggle again. I seem to remember this behavior in my older BMWs. I would've thought that BMW would've fixed this. In other cars that I've recently owned, the clock updates immediately after crossing zones. But this is minor. I love the m60i! The S68 is truly amazing!

IDrive 7 on 2022 and below doesn’t auto update either. Seems they never fixed that.

Love the car, but a lot of small things which you would expect to work are surprisingly challenging: - Time zone change - shortcuts - CarPlay - iDrive stability |

On the flip side.....using CarPlay and Google Maps to navigate the car welcomes you to a new state as in "welcome to South Carolina".
