2024 x50e Carbon Black vs Mineral White (Powder coat 741m)
Hi guys,
I need help deciding... I know similar color topics been posted before, but I'm driving myself crazy here. Coming from a grey metallic car that was fairly easy to clean. 2 kids under 6 years old. I know the dark colors will be harder to maintain, but up for it. Ceramic coating the car as well. 2024 xDrive50e, 21" 741M M Sport, and M Sport Pro package Dealer can powder coat the wheels black if needed. I'm debating between carbon black (or sapphire??) and stock color 741Ms or White with black 741Ms (White needs black wheels to balance the front) I've been into a few dealerships, and for some reason all their cars (non X5s) inside are Black Sapphire, and none are Carbon Black.... I found this rather peculiar... Similar look as this for white, but with black 741Ms Thanks! |

I went from a mineral white 2019 X5 to a black sapphire 2023 X5, only because that was the only one I could find. I do the cleaning myself and it is a whole different world keeping this one clean compared to the old one. I’ve had to learn about various waterless washes and other methods to keep this one looking decent between washes. It looks great for the first hour or so after I clean it. I won’t get another black one.

I've Jet Black F10 and going for BSM X5. I will be washing White car as many times as I'll washing the Black. Doesn't matter what colour it is, if you are a clean freak, you will alway have it clean so go for the one which looks better when washed i.e. Black! |

I've got carbon black now, but owned a M3 in it before. And also had a x5 in Sapphire black as well which i kept for over 11 years. As far as keeping clean there really isn't much difference. I live in the PNW and it does rain a fair bit here. Carbon black is totally fine to keep clean, but also so is sapphire black.
I've said this before, but i think BMW paint has improved greatly over the years. My 2004 Carbon black M3 paint was horrible. The x5 is really good. As far black wheels. Not my cup of tea. But horses for courses. |

My last x5 was Sapphire Black - a solid color. Personally, I like the Carbon Black even more.
On my 2022 I debated between Phytonic Blue and Mineral White - went with Phytonic and LOVE IT . . . as here in Cali, every 3rd car is white . . . locals even name the white lux suv market - the soccer mom special. So, while the white is easy and nice . . . perhaps something different. |

Too funny! My wife and I had the same debate: Carbon Black or Mineral White. We decided Mineral White and visited our dealer to order the car. When we arrived, there was a Mineral White (LCI) and Carbon Black (pre-LCI) staged at the front door. It should be noted our current F15 is Mineral White. Seeing the Carbon Black in person next to the Mineral White made us change or mind and we ordered: Carbon Black (requires M Sport), with Cognac and matt Poplar interior. Can't wait.
That Carbon Black is a sexy beast. |

I have personally saw a carbon black 2024, it changes color to dark blue tint if coming closer. it is surely interesting color than straight black.
However, my personal taste is always lighter color, it has been very hard debating between two grays and mineral white. (I saw these cars myself too) |

Nice side by side. I wonder what the changes were to the headlight outline and size (not the internal hardware). It’s tough to see from the pictures. Maybe a bit was taken off the bottom compared to pre LCI to make it slimmer?

Thanks everyone.
I'm leaning to Carbon Black....but I must say, when I see pictures of the white, I'm not minding the contrast of the front grill...I quite like it....decisions... |

Biased, but I’m on my second CB X5. White is great too, but the CB pops, esp. in bright sunlight. It’s a really cool color. Consider the white interior too, it’s an amazing combo that works well together.
