Black vernasca and sensatech care

I have the black vernasca ventilated seats and the sensatech dash. What would be the best product for keeping both from fading, clean, looking as new as possible and from wearing out?

Yes, I did search and ironically on all threads that I found no answer has been given to anyone that has asked about vernasca - only tartufo and merino recommendations have been given. Thus asking in a new thread.

Why would you need to to use a different leather cleaner for Vernasca - granted it is a bit more durable since it's coated leather.

You can use the same quality leather cleaners on Merino and Vernasca - BMW, Sonax, Lexol. A lot of cleaners were covered in this thread that were posted today:

For the SensaTec dashboard, you could use this since it's synthetic:

I think Merino is aniline leather which you would want to treat different than a semi-aniline leather. Since the semi-aniline has a coating, it won't absorb conditioners the same as an aniline leather. I believe on SONAX's condition it even says not to use on semi-aniline.

edit: Merino is semi-aniline. Not sure is Vernasca is semi-aniline or something with more of a coating on it.

BMW's Merino leather is uncoated. Nappa leather is the one that is semi-aniline and has a "light" coating. Vernasca/Dakota/Nevada leather is the durable leathers that have an embossed grain (varies by name) and is coated with a synthetic polymer paint for durability.

Its the Vernasca/Dakota/Nevada leathers that you just want to use a cleaner on...using a conditioner that is designed to "soak" into these leathers aren't going to "soak in" due to the synthetic polymer paint coating. Save the conditioner for Nappa and especially the Merino leathers.

From the little research I've done and I'm not an expert by any means, but it would seem that the aniline leathers are reserved for high end furniture, bags, etc. Since they are not coated they will not hold up very well to harsh environments. For example, the leather sofa place would say don't buy an aniline leather sofa if you have kids or pets b/c they will most likely ruin it. Knowing that, I can't see how an aniline leather would survive in the car with the exposures it will get.

I have the same setup. I generally use either chemical guys, Adams, lexol, or dr beasleys for the seats. I’ll use the cleaner with one microfiber, buff with a second, apply lotion with a third and buff again with a 4th microfiber.
On the dash I generally use Adams interior detailer but I find the fabric catches pretty easily, esp on the center speaker. Didn’t have the same issue with my f15

Technically just one reply that says to use chemic guys, Adams or Dr Beasley but not sure about the dash as he said that the fabric catches pretty easily. But anyway I think I got the hang of it. Thank you all

I posted the same question in my posting. I am planning to use Chemical Guys leather cleaner and conditioner. Not sure what to use for other surface.

First and foremost, don’t use leather conditioner on synthetics. That would apply to sensatech. I use Lexol E301126000 Vinylex Protectant. It is non greasy and gives a satin finish on plastics, rubber and vinyl. I also use it on my tires. For all genuine leather, either top coated or natural, you can use any quality leather conditioner like Sonax or oem BMW.

Thanks for the tip. Which oem bmw leather cleaner would you recommend for vernasca seats and door panels, etc.? Which Sonax would you recommend out of the few that they have?

Also, any recommendations of what to use on the poplar wood trim?

Same as one posted earlier and also in the link to Merino leather care:

It’s a great quality product for general conditioning of Merino and Nappa leather.
Not oily and leaves a satin new look.

To be clear I mentioned Adams interior detailer on the dash. It’s synthetics safe. What causes the microfiber to catch is the plastic center speaker grate. Just be careful of that. If you dont, the microfiber may shed all over your new clean dash.

For regular maintenance I find I just keep a nice duster in the car and it takes care of the dash most of the time.

Get the Sonax kit.
https://www.autogeek.net/sonax-premium-leather-kit.html

BMW Pure Care for leather as posted above is what I also use a lot.

Wood trim you can either wax or wipe down with a slightly damp quality microfiber cloth.

Quality microfiber cloths are the foundation to everything.

These are outstanding for the money.

For wood I recommend BMW Interior Cleaner - https://www.shopbmwusa.com/product/4...TERIOR-CLEANER , “tested” on my X4 wood for more than 4 years, totally safe and now using for X5. But don’t forget to dilute it with distilled water ~1:5.
