Hello everyone , I am New to here
I Have 2019 X5 with 3rd row, found something that i am not too sure is normal or not which is when reclined seat all the way back noticed that two seat are not in the same Level. The right rear seat was slightly forward while I tried another position that moved seat forward to get into the 3rd row and two seats are not in the same line again. I guess could be the right rear seat not intall or adjust properly.

hope anyone could take a look or let me know

Had same problem. Needs re-initialisation in the workshop.
I-level software update to at least 03-2020.30 seems to solve the problem.

i have had no issues with 3rd row seat alignment

i have had few s/w version , 11/2018 , 03/2019, 07/2019 and now 03/2020 ... not sure if your issue is related to s/w version

Unlike wrinkle-gate, this could easily be a safety issue. It almost looks like the seats are not properly locking (and if so, that IS a safety issue).

My seats are perfectly aligned when locked, for the record. But I am without third row and perhaps powered seats don't secure position the same locking way.

was pop out message regarding rear seat not locked while I adjust the seat back and forth

This is from last year... but you can see the seats are perfectly aligned

Just guessing but could the solution be the same as it is for windows and sunroofs? Holding the button in past the point where the seat stops for around 10 seconds? Possibly this needs done for the forward as well as the reverse direction (or seats up/down direction as the case may be). Is it worth a shot?

Or is it because the rear seat passenger tilted the back seat a bit back reclining setting and the system is keeping it there even if the seats folds down for cargo use?! Not sure but I would need to give it a try.

just try to not tilted seats all the way back and pressed the forward arrow button to get into the 3rd row while pressed the rear arrow button again so seats are in organial postion ( more leg Room spsce for 3rd row)
after doing this was much better when fold down seats but not perfect flat but much better
only thing was reclined seats all the way back are looks the same

As mentioned above, I had the same problems. The fault occurs when someone is messing with the switches while somebody is sitting in the second row. The unit loses its initialisation and the seats are misaligned and the messages are displayed eventually. BMW Germany confirmed Software 2020-3 should solve the problem, as it did with me. Locking or unlocking of the entire seat is no issue. The backrest of the seat normally has no unlocking and is only being adjusted electrically (unless you pull the emergency unlock)

I have the same issue. It only happened after i move the backseats around. I also have the 3rd row and was build 12/19.

Is that software 2020-3 going to be solve the issue of misaligned of the 2nd row when tilted all the way back? The back seat still can manually adjust that could reclined more and the result is not agligned

for me was tilted back rest button all the way
my software is 2019-11

bmwg05, were you ever able to fix the issue of the misaligned seats? I have the same problem with my 2019 X5 and took it to the dealer -- they said they've updated the software to the latest versions but still unable to fix the misalignment. Any updates appreciated, thanks!
