LOL, well, he got it from my eBay link actually. And I got it from someone else's post, but had to convince the seller to ship to Canada. But who's counting, no one competitive around here at all :-).

Yes, that's the one. eBay literally returns "Thanks for your purchase" when I follow your link.

Other members have speculated that this may very well be the official grill to be sourced by BMW, so perhaps the part number structure is further evidence of that theory. In any case, shipping is ridiculously fast and quality fantastic, both attributes have been 100% consistent as reported so far in the forum here.

Note that that specific grill supports the centrally-mounted front camera, but does not support the grill-side-mounted night vision camera (a rare option, but be warned).

Thank you. I just talked to my dealer/parts and they said they can order the glossy black for me from Germany, $279.90 less 10%. Trying to confirm but the part number is 51-13-8-096-590 while this eBay link is different (51-13-7-454-887). I forwarded both for confirmation. A little more expensive but if they can confirm/order I'd go with the dealer, else your link. I was told it may take 3 to 4 weeks. I'm in no hurry, just preferred the black one for my mineral white m sport.

Dealer confirmed 590 is the glossy black (887 is the existing chrome). They'll go ahead and try to order it.

That's good investigation there. In that case, one would guess the reference to the 887 in the eBay listing refers to the exact grill it replaces ... because the eBay one is definitely not chrome at any layer: not the base plastic and not the glossy finish, both of which are black.

My friend who is the Manager of Used Car Sales at one of the big ones in England has confirmed that this is indeed the high gloss single piece black grille. It is listed as a part, not as an accessory.

The part number is definitely 51-13-8-096-590

Guess who's getting it delivered to Bombay in 2 weeks!!!!!!!!!

They are the Gloss Black badging from IND. These are perfect and no issues. I did give them a few coats of Chemical Guys Jet Seal and Sonax Netshield. Very happy with the badging and the IND guy I dealt with was very good.

Same story as my dealer's. BMW NA blocked my initial order. First batch is expected first week of August, with more coming in October.

My local BMW guy has found out that the stock is expected to arrive in BMW Germany on 6 August 2019 and then it will be another 2 weeks for them to ship it out to Bombay for me.

Waiting is so hard!!!!!

Correct, the release date is August 6th however there are times when BMW delays the release.

We have a few on order as well.

Autotecknic just released their kidney grille as well. Great quality for the price.

I wish there was another way to get the independent stuff here in Bombay, but importing it means getting stung pretty hard by the customs duty :-(

Reached out to AutoTecknic and they state that the black tape is for cars that have chrome/silver active grille shutters. I do not believe this package is available for the U.S so in most cases they are not needed.
