Thanks. Assume you just cut out the center piece? What did you use to paint it black?

Could work very nicely - but for the 40i it is a not a quad exhaust so don't want the middle section. Be good to know if you did cut it out or not?

Really confused as your last pic it looks like the center piece isn't there, but looking at the picture when it was chrome, that is not a piece you can just cut out and have it look right, so did you photoshop the last picture? Or is it just the lighting and the middle piece is there but you cant see it at all?

How'd you cut out the center divider? This seems to be the big question- given how good it looks. Thanks again for posting.

I paint the original exhaust trim few week ago myself and find this trim cover on eBay, then I bought it and paint the trim cover again and using 3M tape to stick it on top of the original exhaust trim, if someone want a black exhaust trim and don't want to pay a lot on labor to remove the rear bumper, I believes this is the way to go

I'm so confused. You bought the quad tips from ebay, painted them, then you painted the original???
Your original post was confusing, sounded like you bought the ebay ones, painted and attached it over the original. I guess the last pic threw everyone off. That's why everyone are asking if you cut them.LOL |

I was confused with everyone, but eventually understood. This is a serious hobby for you, these exhaust covers :-).
What I don't yet understand is how you got double exhaust pipes? Is that aftermarket or a particular option or submodel? Mine is M Sport and it's one pipe per side.
